No matter how crazy I could ever be, Ed’s the last person who’d call out “Security!” Nothing breaks his stride.

PS what if I really and truly believe he’s not breathing (even though he is). Would that be ok?

Not on my visitation days, WCW 😂

This is unreal.

I had almost resigned myself to the thought he was going to quit the game early and go off grid or something. Seems to be that sought of bloke.

One of my favourites- the contract length is fair and well deserved 👏

I was certain he was going to retire this week to then find out by Sunday that he had converted to a Monk and was living in a cave somewhere in Mongolia.

Genuinely would not have been surprised one bit if that actually happened lol.

Well Schache is on a one year deal, and Ben Brown was already on a contract at North which was extended in order to get him to Melbourne.
He won us a flag. It was worth the risk.

If JJ wasn’t OOC for example we could have got more for him in a trade. Instead we got a third round pick compensation.

The club is doomed either way because nobody is ever happy.

Not quite sure what you are getting at.  That is one example. Daw, Dunstan, Schache, Brown, Brown to name a few have been the depth players I am talking about. Sometimes it's ok to critically analyse the clubs list management choices.

The predictable fury that you and WCW have whenever someone slightly questions the list, strategies or players output over the journey is nauseating. It's ok to love the club and still question its strategy and directions in a mature way. The Ben Brown argument is done to death. Yes he is an immortal and for that he will always be a legend of the club but it would be good if we can still discuss his overall output over the 4 years without the usual suspects throwing shallow guilt trip arguments around.

WCW we all know how much you love the boys. I ask you kindly to step back and let others discuss the club and players at times without ramming your nose in it and being the holier than thou protector of all. It is shallow and a touch odd.

Ed was never going anywhere. One of the most consistent players we've had.

Hopefully we can add a few more like him in the near future to give us similar run that he provides.

That’s ‘kindly’ asking???  I’d hate to see what you consider ‘unkindly’

Regardless, I shan’t ‘step back’ from any discussion on a public forum.

If you’re not partial to shallow and a touch odd, put me on ignore.

Just as I presume most of the players would do if they could, I will put you on ignore. Great outcome!

He’s a strange cat is our Langers. Stays true to himself.

Not everyone will agree but personally I love that he’s not afraid to say what he thinks. All duck no dinner… you tell ‘em, Ed!

He loves that Goody doesn’t yell at the players, unlike Ross Lyon. And he said it publicly 😂🤣😂

Don’t ever change, Ed. You’re fine just the way you are ❤️💙

Great summary of langdons view of the world wcw.

The club had to ban him from rock climbing on game day mornings.

He holds the afl record this year for most out of bounds on the full.

Ed carries the great Stan Alves number with pride I'm sure and I'll bet culturally he only makes us a better team.

Excellent signing.

One of the more gratuitously nasty things that i have seen on Demonland.

The model wingman in the current game which most other clubs and fans see as the benchmark.

Stoked we've got Lingers locked away for another 4 😁

I am not comparing to Langdon. He deserves 4 years and is a fantastic player. Just the depth argument and not treading carefully when signing players to 4 years. Due diligence is always necessary even if it is for depth.

Signing any player long term for future depth is  fraught with danger and will almost always end up as we are now.

Fair points but he's got a body that should allow him to play till he's 40. Locking down 4 years of the next 12 is probably a smart move 🤪

Just for accuracy, JJ was an unrestricted FA and we got and end of second round comp pick for him

Wholly uncalled for.

There is room for debating @WalkingCivilWar’s views on the club given her close connection to the players/coaches/staff.

But what cannot be debated is her connection. Which she owns from being completely devoted to the club.

I’d like to think the players would tell you to [censored] right off, but I might leave that to WCW.

No way DDavey was he ever going to Mongolia.  No rock climbing sites or indoor facilities. No decent bike repair shops either.

Nice one Ed.

A very good re-signing and indicates that MFC isn't in as much disarray as the media and and portions of Demonland claim it is.

Langdon is a lot like Alex Neal Bullen.

Does his job every week.

Always plays. Never gets injured or suspended.

Pops up with an outstanding performance a few times a year.

Has clear defincies, but you live with them for everything else they bring to the team.

Love the signing, alongside Windsor it means we don't have to worry about our wings.

Ed's a private schoolboy. Maybe he outsources the dirty work of chain cleaning. Just a guess.

Of course the one day I raise concerns around when he would sign his contract they... announce his contract signing 🙄

Great to have him on board!

A little birdie told me they said they would stick it up DD. 😀
