According to Mark Duffield we have ‘significant interest’ in him

From their website, they describe him as a tall defender

Towering young tall Harry Edwards has been asked to tackle some big assignments since debuting in 2020, and the former rookie-listed defender gained valuable experience from his 17 senior level appearances in the 2022 season. Edwards did well to use that experience to his advantage when given the opportunity, further developing the 200cm backman at an accelerated rate. Edwards encountered injury concerns in 2023, including a fractured wrist, which saw him feature just twice in the senior squad last year. The Swan Districts product was named West Coast’s Emerging Talent winner in 2021.

With Barass possibly leaving and McGovern nearing the end, if this bloke is any good would they let him go?

Big gan of chasing Edwards. He's a big 197cm full back who's also a good intercept mark as well.

Would certainly be the Steven May replacement.

I can't find anything though that has us linked to the Dees?

I asked my West Coast supporter mate.

Reads the play really well.

Great size. Was drafted at 195cm but has grown to 200.

Plays like his size. Good overhead mark. Often intercept marks due to size and ability to read the play, but is very slow and will get burnt on the lead by opposition forwards.

Consistently injuries have limited has opportunities.

We're looking at him and some kid from GWS that hasn't played a game

Young tall backs are something we're monitoring keenly

From what I’ve seen he’s more of a CHB than a full back.

But the right age for a fresh start.

Probably the Tomlinson replacement rather anything substantial long term.

Good to see the club plan for long term

But you know a fwd and a mid would be nice too  :-)

That wouldn't be Wade Derksen by any chance would it..?

Ps Welcome to Dland! Feel free to add any worthwhile trade talk 😁

Suspect so, only GWS player that fits the profile of young key back that hasn't played a game.

Sounds like we're going to be very active this off-season.

Just hope we have some picks left over for the draft.

I know for a fact we were monitoring him throughout the 2022 season before he got picked up in the mid season draft.

Dees are concerned that we have May (2-3 years left), Tmcd (pending retirement) and Tomlinson (surely he says he wants to go as he’s been given limited opportunities and gets dropped on a whim by Goody).

Adams hasn’t developed and whilst we have to be patient, finding a young 21-22yo defender as backup would be handy in the next few years.  I’d prefer Derksen who can play key forward or back, and might be available for a 4th round pick.

Saying Adams hasn’t developed is a bit harsh. He’s in his second season and is a 20yo key position player. I’ve seen some good signs from him at Casey this year and I think he will continue to improve. Has a great left peg!

But I’m happy we are looking to improve our list for the here and now

Sorry yes need to be patient. I meant we might need someone who can cover for next year 2025 with Tmcd pending retirement and Tomlinson likely to be elsewhere.  Adams imv wouldn’t be ready to cover May in 2025.

Age mentioned again we are into him on the 13th. Looks an ok prospect that has been held back by injury. Wonder if his background might be as a ruck, that would be useful

I saw something yesterday saying he was set to re-sign with the Eagles...

I clicked on here thinking he was a kid we might pick with our 1st rounder. Shows how much I watch the Eagles.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
