A worse turn out for us than the GWS match, considering Port had thousands more there. Dry and comfortable conditions. Not unexpected though. Better hope this club isn't headed for major doldrums again.

Those bloody train lines must be down on a Saturday night again..

Worst. Thread. Ever.

So you can get stuck into our players but we can’t get stuck into our “supporters” who bail the minute things don’t go well?

Er, where have I got stuck into players?

I was there tonight, but don't think it is of use shaming those who weren't, as if it's some sort of simplistic measure of support.

Your hyperbole is not unexpected

Really? All you’ve done the last few weeks is post one negative thing after the other about our club.

How is it hyperbole to suggest getting less than 20,000 to a Saturday night match in perfect weather is embarrassing?

And nobody is shaming anyone. We’ve been thru this before, if you have a legitimate reason to not attend that’s fine. But there are plenty of who just simply didn’t attend and stopped attending because we aren’t playing great football. Watch them all come out of the woodworks when we play finals again.

Sheffield Shield finals.

I was there too, in the MFC reserved area on my lonesome. The regulars have really dropped off.

we watched What's Eating Gilbert Grape instead. considering the score line, I am going to presume the movie was far more entertaining.

Please go ahead and detail what is, and is not, an illegitimate and legitimate, for attending a game of football, that you are under absolutely no moral, contractual or financial obligation to attend? But I digress.

Thank you for displaying  conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity, above and beyond the call of duty, in being a supporter to the Melbourne Football Club and attending. By your selfless commitment, leadership, and extraordinary devotion to duty as a fan of the MFC, you have not only reflected great credit upon yourself, but also upheld the highest traditions of the Melbourne Football Club.

This act shall not be forgotten.

I believe we had 16,000 GWS and just under 18,000 tonight. Great game…couldn’t fault our endeavour. Our supporters are renowned for coming out of the “woodwork”… if we were contenders …would have been heaps more !! End of the day ..glad I went …

Please find where I have got stuck into players? That's what you accused me of. Go on.

And who made you the police of legitimate reasons to attend?

Football is entertainment, we are not playing entertaining football.

If you think this thread wasn't created to shame people who don't attend, then you've not been paying attention. It literally spells it out in the thread title FGS!

It's a dumb thread. Turning on people who barrack for the same club is dumb.

Such sensitive defensive posters in here, who also get stuck into posters for being sensitive and defensive about our players and our club.
Oh the irony.

Just checking, am I permitted to attend the last game vs Collingwood? Thought I'd run it past you, as you're the arbitrator of attendance

TIA 🙏

BTW, still waiting for you to find where I have got stuck into one of our players

Its amazing to think the west coast game got 32k and our GWS+Port barely got that combined.

Because our supporters don’t care for Saturday night games … it’s pretty obvious. We have an aging supporter base, yet to establish a new breed, and quite frankly Saturday nights are for TV. If you play a vidtorian team it’s a stock standard 40k

Just a lovely example of your posting right here

Deadset if you don’t attend I don’t think the players will miss your “supporting”

Well spotted! A rarity I believe, despite those players being depth.

Still a [censored] thread

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
