Goody is telling Clarry that he will come visit him on the farm in Geelong

Tell me did Cornes have this opinion about Clarries contact when he first signed it or is he just doing a pile on after a troublesome 12 months

Well yeah, in fairness he has.

It's absolutely beautiful watching Cornes et al. make adult fanboys have an absolute meltdown.

I watched Kozzie’s video back to his home town last week and Clarry seems 100% invested to me. I’d be surprised if he’s not back to his absolute best next year in the red and blue.

That was a great little video and it was really good to see Clarry enjoying himself.

I'm of the view that we don't have to wait until next year to see the best of him.

Slowly but surely his tank is building and he's starting to have an influence in games.

I don't see any reason why he can't be having a big impact in the next few weeks as the fight for a good finals berth is on the table.

He looked really relaxed and happy in the rooms after last week's win.

We need him to get back to at least 80 percent of his best this year and I reckon he can do it.

this is what they live for, and why poxtel are going to offer kornes a small fortune to be the face of their channel from 2025 and beyond

Doubt he is going anywhere next year but he would want to improve his form drastically in 2025.

Clayton is getting $1m a year +  and delivering a $500,000 a year performance on the field so far.

Drastically improving is an overload on Clarry’s form. Your negative side clearly shows while the stats are clear he is down in most categories it merely comes back to a very good honest one year winner of our B and F and not a 4 time superstar champion’s record,

One thing still that highlights Clarry is that he still is one of the best last quarter players when he is needed to produce.

Hats off to Goody who held him back last SaturDay night to see him through the four quarters.

BTW Cranky Granky ( well self named) howcgid you expect Clarry to perform this year given his prep for 2024??

At 75 85 or 95 % of his normal output. And your assertion that we are only getting 50% worth of Clarry’s $1 mill contract is way off.
He is improving each game and I’d be very scared if we make the Finals if I was another of the second to 13th teams that could come up against us.

Never write off a champion and just as the Deed are hitting their best straps this season so will Vlarry be right there when the whops are cracking.

I personally don't mind him, I think he's far more engaging than a lot of other AFL media personalities out there. He clearly has strong opinions and he generates a lot of attention and discussion. He's fairly similar to KB IMO, although not exactly as rambunctious as KB when he used to be on with Patrick Smith.

On the subject matter, I don't necessarily think it's that inflammatory either. If I was an opposition club I'd absolutely be seeing if I can get Oliver out of Melbourne (and as has been pointed out, Morris hasn't implied or explicitly stated that is the MFC's intention at all).

Good on him.

Not going to knock a bloke down for working his way up and make a living for what he does.

He's clearly good at doing what he does and that's to sell clicks.

His current job is SEN Radio, Channel 9 Sunday Footy show and footy classified, AFL.com on a Saturday night with Riley Beveridge.

Must be doing something right?

The only football show I watch is ON THE COUCH with Garry ect, my thinking is the rest are weak attempts at comedy.  The Sunday footy show is all about who can out do who with next to no content  . and as far as MORRIS goes I just hit MUTE

it'll be interesting to see what him joining poxtel does, and what they limit him doing accordngly

they want to use him to sell subs etc. so he'll need to very active on their platform as opposed to sen, ch9, afl.com etc. etc

The footy media is a complete joke.

As is the coverage of games.

Those two things intersected on Saturday night.

It was a text book example of woeful coverage and how the paper thin standard of 'reporting' leads to misinformation - misinformation skewed to make people, in this case clarry, look bad and gin up some faux controversy.

I couldn't make the game because I was sick, so had to watch the game on TV.

At the start of the last quarter Ling proclaims that clarry only had one possession and said he thinks (but implied he did) Goody gave clarry a bake at quarter time and challenged him to lift.

That gets repeated through the coverage and morphs into a statement of fact.

Clarry gets going and the implication is he is responding positively to the bake.

Straight after the game Rivers is interviewed and is asked about the bake Goody gave clarry at quarter time.

Riv looks genuinely perplexed and says hw didn't realise goody had given clarry a bake, and talked abour how hard clarry worked.

Given Rivers is actually in the quarter time huddle you'd think he know if goody got stuck into clarry.

It's not 'till next day that I learn on demonland that clarry had spent a big part of the first quarter on the bench, seemingly as part of a  successful strategy to help ensure he runs out the game.

Did anyone bother to check his minutes on the bench, data they actually include in the coverage?

So clarry not given a bake, nor challenged to lift and not responding to that challenge when he racks up 25 odd disposals in the next 3 quarters.

His game wasn't part of some peurile redemption, heroes and villans narrative the football media is obsessed with.

The losers in this patethetic high school patomine?

Clarry gets another wack from the media - he's miles off it, and needs a boot up the bum to get going.

Goody gets no credit for the clever use of clarry to maximise his impact when the whips are cracking in the last quarter (noting we have struggled to run out games).

But most of all football fans who are fed bulltish and treated like fools.

Ollie is not used much early I agree with you,but rekon its to stop the heavy tags he gets most weeks

Or to keep him fresher for the rest of the game.

If you can stay with the opponent until quarter time, it is a smart tactic.

This is not about the fans, it's about the media spewing absolute garbage about a player who has been through a hell of a lot and deserves peace and quiet.

Yes I understand these morons are out to make headlines, but after the despicable way they targeted him in the off season, I have run out of patience with their garbage.

Tom Morris in particular should know what it feels like to have your dirty laundry aired publicly. Yet it hasn't stopped him being a bin diving grub.

Talk about the team, our performance, no issues. Stop getting stuck into a guy who has worked so damn hard to better himself and his mental health.

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
