Essendon are a very tall side and of all sides to have to play without Max they are probably the hardest.

With Max out, it will be interesting to see if our centre clearance work declines or improves. I believe the opposition always sets up for Max at CB’s hence why our clearance rate is lower than it should be. I wonder with our new ruck this week, whether we will turn the tables and set up for their ruckmen. 
Hope Max’s injury is not too bad ( but knowing our luck ……). Max could do with a rest and freshen up before the finals anyway.

Hmm, looks a tough ask to beat Essendrug without him. Now if they don't play Fullerton I am lost for words which doesn't happen that often. Clearly now we need to play one of Fullerton or Verrall. From what I have seen Fullarton is at least mobile. Verrall is  a slow VFL player who I have  never seen dominate for Casey.

Who knows LR. It is only a 6 day break so time may not be on his side. 

Maybe I'm just basking in the post-win optimism, but I'm starting to think we have the makings of an exceptional forward line.

JVR, Fritsch, and Pickett are all proven performers. Chandler is cementing his spot and even though it's very early days, I think Turner may become an excellent third-tall option. We just need another genuine key forward, which may eventually be Jefferson... or someone we bring in, like Waterman.

Agree with the exception he is not a poor ruckman - he actually competes well in the ruck.

Anyone see the bump between McGovern and Chandler? McG taken to hospital with a suspected rib and lung injury. He tried to strong arm Chandler coming the other way and Chandler took his bump and kept running through him .

Not that it matters to anyone here, but did anyone else hear the WC player swearing at McGovern for not kicking it to him. It was on the wing on the MCC members side either the 3rd or last quarter. We heard it up on level 2. They are falling apart and now today media is all over that WC players want a new voice. 

I would be furious if I heard any MFC player abuse a team mate for not taking them as an option. I love watching Maysie and Lever after every goal (even ours). It is always so intense then a love fest.💙🧡

Yes Caleb had his best game for the season and came after several average performances from him that made many of us feel he needed a rest.

It was also especially timely for those of us who watched the Pies v Bombers game and were having kittens that we took him ahead of Nate Caddy - who just happens to play the position we are desperately crying out for and the one we overlooked in the draft last year in order to get Windsor and Tholstrup.

Windsor adds pace and can turn on Robbie style weave or baulk, so there's plenty of upside in him.

But Caddy showed signs of being the next big thing.

Melksham makes a major difference, In the first way with his leadership in our forward line, the second is fairly obvious to me , but all i will say is to look at his patterns on the ground and you should be able to figure it . It was plain to see yesterday and makes a big difference.
