Time for a Change….Don’t wait another 2 years…

I don't think the situation is as dire as most. Watching Sydney last night their midfield, particularly Warner are dynamic. Kozzie brings that in spades but he needs to be a full time midfielder.

Rivers and McPhee to spend extended time there rotating with Salem.

Oliver will come good again but he and Viney can't be in the centre at the same time as they are at the moment.

Our Trac record of managing players injuries needs a major overhaul.

We have none...  just what is.

Yet 2 years ago Demonland was lauding Chico for providing this.

I don’t by that either way it’s never simply that black and white

Still very angry with the last month if footy but i think we must back Goodwin in to get things right. Sacking him before his contract is up would be disastrous and would set the club back a decade.

HOWEVER the footy dept must get a shakeup. Assistant coaches need a freshen up and for the love of god get a proper forwards coach in. I would also like a ball movement coach (eg Caracella).

With Petracca done we should be looking to send any players who need it off for surgery early so they are ready day 1 preseason. Viney I'm looking at you.

Changing the way the forwards play will do nothing if the mids can't deliver to them.

We made a mistake by extending his previous contract BEFORE we knew the result of last year's finals.

I believe he still had one year, this year, from the previous contract.

Don't extend if we don't perform in the finals, then see how it goes in 2024.

We would be having a very different discussion today. On top of that Oliver's off the field issues coincided with this whole situation.

It’s much more complex than that. The game plan is all wrong and needs a major overhaul. How can the midfielders deliver if the forward line is always flooded by the other team’s backs and midfielders and forwards??? We delay delay and then kick it in when the 50 is flooded with the opposition backs. Or we get it out over the back of the flood occasionally but there’s nobody there in the forward fifty to kick it to because we’re flooding back into their fifty to defend and have left no forwards in any position to kick to,

We don't seem to realise we have problems until it is too late.  Mostly due to a lack of quality mids after Trac and Oliver. Trac has gone , Oliver is way below his best. We are also missing a Tall Forward who can kick goals.

There is nothing wrong will playing Petty forward providing he is HAPPY to do so. Petty when he came back from injury should have played for Casey as a FF or CHF forward. Jefferson could have played elsewhere. What we have produced a forward who is underperforming and is not much better when playing defence.

The decision not to play Grundy in one of the exit finals was a shocker , perhaps we need a five year old to pick the team!!!  A double final losses two years running is silly . If you can't buy a mid, you need to create one or two. Rivers , McV.

Hodge ex Hawks became a mid so did G.Ablett jnr

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
