Any chance we could turn up to a game with the mindset of putting immense pressure on the opponent?

Have you ever played footy at an elite lvl and had an opponent steamroll you? Itโ€™s no fun & putting pressure on isnโ€™t the issue that got us to this point, least of our worries in this game!

A top 3, possibly top 2, spot in the offing. With the race for the Top 8 being so tight this year, I am worried our performances against the 2 WA clubs in the last 3 weeks are a portent to a dreaded 9th place finish - maybe even at best? Why are we loading so heavily at this time in the season?

how can no one else see this IS trying to change????? Goodness me.. Iโ€™d rather we donโ€™t change and just kicked straighter (ly) but I also see we canโ€™t keep getting to finals, dominating i50 and LOSING!!! We lost 4/4 finals โ€” We have to try and transition our game and we will, itโ€™s a bump in the road, just hope for no injuries & put it behind us!

How many bumps you need? Honestly...

Down 26 in contested possessions means our pressure is non existent.ย
Plus down 16 in clearances and 9 in tackles.ย
That is non competitive football. I didnโ€™t think I would ever have to be embarrassed watching us play with this team. This is embarrassing.ย

Every team will be doing this to us every week now, we are going to have to reinvent ourselves to remain competitiveย

This isnโ€™t trying at all

The Squad is not mentally preparedย

Losing to WC & lions in the way we did was the tip of the iceberg, Viney hadnโ€™t played well since the Port game, our mids look shot, no fwd line, will only get worse, some how Goodwin has found a way to demolish this team who should have won another flagโ€ฆ thickhead never makes changes at 1/2 time the same old & same old bs presser coming upย

I think some peeps have been a bit spoiled.. I wish I could make it so that when you jump-off this quickly you canโ€™t enjoy the high-rides but I know where youโ€™re coming from and wouldโ€™ve once felt similar but this is a perfect day for a team thatโ€™s choc-full of confidence and weโ€™re barely there! ย

ย No reason it canโ€™t be.. I choose to keep faith, everythingโ€™s going right for them and itโ€™s evident theyโ€™re chasing in. I canโ€™t smash a team thatโ€™s given me so much resounding reasons to trust them.. Weโ€™ll bounce back next week.. you donโ€™t lose ability overnight for goodness sake!ย

Harden up ppl, itโ€™s a crappy day โ€” move fwd. ย

So you are OK with a premiership type list being smashed week in and week out by mediocre opposition?

It's clear this team is not good enough this year, let's stop pretending otherwise.

Any danger of this game breaking wide open ?...

I mean WIDE :(

Damn, that last goal may make it hard to get the win now, time is running out to come back.ย

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecastโ€”20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze โ€” expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kateโ€™s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwoodโ€™s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isnโ€™t a standard conceptโ€”itโ€™s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasnโ€™t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's ย six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his teamโ€™s unfulfilled potential rang true โ€ฆ well, almost.ย
