Boy George, played and moved like Austin Wonemaeamirri yesterday, similar build and style of play, but looks a definate UPGRADE!

Aside from his tank, maybe the defensive side and learning whatever role he's being asked to play ie; within the team structure ... Roy looks to be a ready made AFL player.

That might require some time spent training with the main group / Casey group during the week for a good block though.  Most likely a pre-season as well to get that all in place and the tank going.  At the very least a structured mini pre after the MSD.

If you watch from the 10 minute of the 3rd quarter Roy George kicks 2 goals in 2 minutes. It's on the AFL website. The commentators said it would be a frightening to see Kozzie Pickett and Roy George playing together in the forward 50. The commentators were in their element seeing Roy George play. I'm interested to see if he will play this Friday afternoon at Ikon Park against the brown paper bags

JT in his post draft interview said Kolt would play later as a mid in the AFL. Roy George is worth watching and he may get picked in the mid season.

Roy trained pre season with the Dockers and has been a drifter around the country it seems. The club maybe looking at him for the PSD. If so, he will get more games with Casey before hand.

Really some of these kids are in their first years and we all know of Judd etc. Let’s cool down and see how some come out of the harder footy now required in the Casey Dees. 

Are we doing the right thing in trying to develop Kolt and Sestan as mids because we are desperate or are we better letting them make it as HFFlankers then offering mid field opportunities.

Similarly AMW surely is a better chance of succeeding as a HF than a HB. 
Snd are we missing a trick in lMO in not getting as much game time on the ball ( despite his physique ) for Pup Kynan who looks natural junk hungry dog who is a total ball winner in the trenches plus has pace and kicks a goal. He is a sleeper IMO and needs to be given time accordingly to fast track his development.

Where he lets himself down is his clangers by foot though.  Particularly through the middle.  Some of them are horror jobs under not alot of pressure and at AFL level the oppo will generally punish on the scoreboard if you turnover in that part of the ground. 

He's doing alot right but i reckon the FD would want to see him clean that side up first.  Too risky otherwise.

He is also being played as a small rebound defender so who is he replacing?  We have Bowey about to come back.  Surely he gets the nod and is well ahead of Moniz preference wise given his prior cred?

Personally if Hunter is playing at Casey i'd rather see him play the Moniz role at times.

Give Moniz some reasonable minutes at CBs and stoppages and see how he goes.  Pushing forward sometimes as well.  Wasted down back and unlikely to get a call up while playing this role at Casey.

Moniz is also a pretty good crumber / goal sneak.  At least when played up forward anyway.  Looks like the FD has other plans though.

Andy came from Darwin as a B class rookie, so has not had the junior grounding as the rest of the players.

His main sport was rugby with AFL on the side, hence the excellent tackling technique.

Unfortunately he has had a couple of injuries that have hampered his progress.

Just needs a clean run, would not be surprised to see him given a run in the midfield to round out his experience.

Versatility is the key in medium size players these days.

Agree I’m a fan of AMW.  I think he is worth a chance to debut this year.  His tackling (from his rugby background) is very good so he should adapt to the pressure.

It’s daylight.  AMW is the only one deserving of a call up really.  What are we waiting for ? Probably offers more than Billings right now.

Disposal by foot isn't great for starters.

They're obviously looking for a consistent performance from AMW. Whilst the stat sheet may look good on his behalf it's his ball use and lack of composure at times at VFL that stands out the most.

In a high paced pressure environment at AFL level this simply doesn't stand up.

Still think he's better use up forward.

Yeah I didn't mind Deakyn to be honest. 

Actually surprised we didn't give him a go. The games I watched of him at VFL level he seemed consistent and I thought with him being a running defender he could have been a good one two punch alongside Bowey.

He was also pretty composed and measured down back.

I remember one of the games I watched he completely shut down Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti and i thought that was going to be the next step into AFL level.

Won Casey's best and fairest last year but was unfortunately still delisted. Coaches obviously think very differently to us nuffy fans.
