Living in Brisbane for years made the Lions my second team in some ways.

After the last couple of years, I really can't stand them.

This is like the AFL equivalent of Trump vs Biden.

As bad as it is seeing Carlton, Collingwood win, they beat up top 4 contenders which evens the ledger. I reckon the top 8 and even top 10 is gonna be super close this year. Lots of teams winning 4-5 in a row and also losing 2-3 in a row. I reckon 3 games max separating 1st and 8th.

Then it will come down to whichever team plays the best finals football. We have really struggled in past years, I reckon Carlton and Brisbane will go very deep. Everyone talks about GWS, they haven't done anything yet.

We have looked very good this year but our games vs Geelong and Carlton will tell us everything.

The worst thing is essendon v Collingwood next week. Maybe a draw is the only decent result

Are you kidding??  I can think of plenty of other decent outcomes.  To both!!

Angry Get Out GIF

Hawkins though… argued his point for ages and the umpire humoured him. Spewing… I was hoping to see a 150-metre penalty.

On the train home after a pleasant afternoon at Marvel Stadium. Strong win by the Blues, a Blues side missing quite a few important players with injury.

So far the results of this round have gone 100% according to the proportion of insufferable jerks who will tell you all about it on monday.

So, cue up West Coast, Sydney, Geelong and Hawthorn.

But the Blues overcoming their throwback 6-goal-againsr run and doing it in style is a bit of a story. Not much doubt in my mind that they're the main threat to our 2024 premiership. Aside from, you know, ourselves.

Please Port, please do what the Crows couldn’t do last night, ie. beat a team we all heartily hate. Thanks in advance 👍🏽

Reckon Greene was fine until the last second when he turned his shoulder to bump.

He should've curled up into a wrecking ball and ironed Durdin out.  He would then get off...   #AFLfootyAct

I reckon the next bloke in this position just  needs to pit his knee up to protect himself and put the opponent into a 6 month coma.

The AFL will then come to its senses and tell players not to put themselves into stupid positions where they are vulnerable - leading with head, going back with the flight etc. If they do then it’s at their own risk. All players need to look out for their safety.

MASSIVE throw by Neale there right in front of the ump.

This is a real opportunity to fool the public into believing that the MRO and tribunal are NOT corrupt outcome driven team biased  (dis)organizations.
Will they baulk?
Kozzie would get 4-6 for that without a doubt. Its not as if Toby gets the “ never been suspended despite multiple fines” Cameron discount, though he will probably get the GW$ needs a flag discount

So the GWS player kicks it to Greene. If there was ever anything as football rights, that was Greenes and Durdin had no right.

So the fact that Durdin goes for it and puts himself at risk, Greene is supposed to pull out? Not protect himself?

It’s like driving into a round about intersection and some scumbag speeds up from the left intersecting lane and enters the round about just as you do and you end up hitting that vehicle.  Technically and by the rule of law you are at fault, but everyone knows it’s BS.

  • PREVIEW: North Melbourne

Can you believe it? After a long period of years over which Melbourne has dominated in matches against North Melbourne, the Demons are looking down the barrel at two defeats at the hands of the Kangaroos in the same season. And if that eventuates, it will come hot on the heels of an identical result against the Gold Coast Suns. How have the might fallen? There is a slight difference in that North Melbourne are not yet in the same place as Gold Coast. Like Melbourne, they are currently situated in the lower half of the ladder and though they did achieve a significant upset when the teams met earlier in the season, their subsequent form has been equally unimpressive and inconsistent.

  • REPORT: Adelaide

The atmosphere at the Melbourne Football Club at the beginning of the season was aspirational following an injury-plagued year in 2024. Coach Simon Goodwin had lofty expectations with the return of key players, the anticipated improvement from a maturing group with a few years of experience under their belts, and some exceptional young talent also joining the ranks. All of that went by the wayside as the team failed to click into action early on. It rallied briefly with a new strategy but has fallen again with five more  consecutive defeats.
