Billings can play

Don’t write us off just yet.

Absolutely rapt for T Mac and Brown.
Jibba very very good today.

Emphatic.

A win. Yippee.

Well great comeback from our captain.
Oliver well and truly back.
Chandler some much needed signs of old.
May absolutely rock solid down back. Nice game from Billings and Hore.
The biggest take away for me was Bbbs performance.
Didn't kill it but a very good serviceable game nonetheless. Our best tall fwd.
Tmac pretty good down back.
That's two key talls I had in all honesty pretty much written off. Im having some humble pie for dinner. Tx all.

A moment needs to be taken, to try and comprehend playing Laurie and Spargo ahead of Billings last week

OLIVER.  BOG.   By a mile

Especially when Spargo had such a poor end to the pre season

So happy for Clarry, hopefully todays performance indicates his personal life is moving in the right direction as well :)

  • T Mac a disturbingly competent game, didn't see that coming..
  • Chandler best game for 6 months
  • Windsor & Howes both belong
  • Sparrow better hope Tholstrup is miles off...
  • Billings miles ahead of Laurie, Spargo......how didn't he start round 0!?

Much better and there’s still improvement - like fritta not missing what he’d usually kick.

Billings and Chandler great (let’s hope it sparks momentum, like his work out back as well), Clarry awesome to see. Tmac handy and BBB looked good. Maxy immense.

Generally kept them at bay and monstered them at the end.

103-44 after the 20-6 fast start to the dogs.

Let’s consolidate against the hawks next week to give us confidence and momentum for a tough few weeks after that.

Go Dees!

Very good win! We looked like a very different side to last week. We actually looked to use the corridor more and take the game on. Good signs.

Gawn was BOG for me. He absolutely monstered English. Oliver, May, Trac and Viney were also very good.

Also a special shout to Billings. He should never have been used as a sub against the Swans. His ball use was brilliant.

Great win, loved seeing our game style in action today. Comprehensive win, no passengers today.

"we're going to get smashed"

"Billings is horrible"

"Worst changes ever"

0 football knowledge some people have.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
