Is there bigger chokers and pretenders than the Lions?

1 goal in a half of footy is pathetic. zero intensity

Last year was their Big Chance

The moment has passed

I wouldn’t be surprised if Brisbane steal this. Does Freo have a bench??

2 really poor set shots from the Lions. bad misses.

When was the last time both Grand Finalists started 0-2? C’mon Saints next week!

Watching the Lions get beaten by Freo Vs watching the MFC replay ...hmmmm

See ya Lions!

Brisbane's big problem is the Suns. In two team cities the norm is for one to be up and the other down.

Lions play the Suns twice... lose both and top 4 becomes hard.

Same for Swans and GWS

I wish LJ still played with us but I still enjoy watching him play.

soft and no leadership

Freo only gave Longmuir a one year deal

very harsh

Has there ever been a year where the both the grand finalists have started the next year 0-2?

They both shouldn't have been in the GF in the first place

we shall see. if you want your leader worried about his future all year and making decisions on the here and now rather than the future.

i think it’s disrespectful given what he has done there. he’s made them a respectable decent team. if they get a few injuries and miss finals, is he sacked? or maybe scrape through for another year deal

No, he has done nothing so far… That’s the whole point. He has an extra year. 2024 he must perform

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
