Swifty playing away

on line still

hope we get compensation for the closure

Be interesting to know why???

She's here 16th 17th & 18th...

The only work day is Friday.

I don't think the shop would hinder the sound check.

Is it some kind of merch deal? can't sell any other merch apart from Taylor stuff over a given time?

Can still buy online.

Must admit I saw the email and thought they'd done a collaboration. Which would have been super smart lol

The large brown area is where the stage will be.

The MFC admin staff have to relocate and work from home and/or Casey and/or AAMI for 10 days. No functions will be held during this time. If a room that has windows which overlook the ground does have to be used during the lead-up to the concerts, the windows will be ‘blacked out.’ There are huge black curtains already erected between the concourse and the ground level seating. All this because Mz Swift demands total secrecy. She doesn’t want the details of her spectacle to be known before the event.

As for the Demon Shop, I was there today and asked about them shutting, and it seems one reason is because it’s not worth opening when there’ll be so few people wandering in and out of the ‘G. (Many people who visit the ‘G incorporate a visit to the Demon Shop.) I don’t know why they’re shutting for such a long time though.

I'd be flat out knowing any songs she sings, is she actually any good?

Not my type of music but my understanding is that she’s a really sound person so as long as she takes the Dee’s to be her team I’m happy for her to borrow our ground.

Of course she's good 'picket'...

You don't have her level of sustained success if you're not.

Typical pop, so if that's your thing.....

As a result of all the hoo ha in the media, I had to resort to Google to work out who/what she was.

She's everywhere at the moment.

Won't be able to watch the SB on Monday without seeing several shots of her in the audience.

I know songs by Beyonce, Madonna even Lady Gaga and I'm not into their music at all. I don't know a single Taylor swift song.

Male equivalent of Ed Sheeran. Mass produced pop. Both huge. They obviously got talent but more for marketing than singing I'd say. Good luck to them.

Another reason to get our own facility, so we can (a) have our shop located somewhere that is reasonably accessible and (b) not be forced to shut down by international musicians.

Demon shop closed ??? !!!

How can that be? I've never actually found the place!

Good point. Where is the shop anyways. I normally get my mfc gear online or in the afl shop in chaddy.

He may have had "problems", Pickett, but I'm sure that Jimmy fixed it.

That's where they've taken the drop-in wicket out. The main stage is at the city end.

It couldn’t be more hidden away if they tried. 😅 If you’re at Gate 6 at the ‘G you go down the steps that take you onto Brunton Ave., turn right on Brunton Ave and walk for about 5 minutes and you’ll find a little inconspicuous shop. Easy to walk straight past it and not notice (or maybe that’s just me 🙃).

Most importantly… phone ahead of time. They seem to be closed more often than open. Ignore the opening hours notice on the door, and even on the website, it’s not always accurate. I went there yesterday at 4:20 knowing it shuts at 5pm. It was shut and in darkness. I rang them… went to voicemail. I eventually got in but geez they don’t make it easy.

Spot on. I know people who are going to her concert and who also went to Ed Sheeran’s concert and they aren't even necessarily fans of either. FOMO abounds! 😁

....and yet no other international act performing at the MCG resulted in the Demon Shop being closed.  In fact when Billy Joel performed there, his drummer was wearing a Melbourne Guernsey, which he'd bought when he came across the Demon Shop while setting up.

What time frame are there no functions?  The Coterie Season Launch is advertised as being in the MCC Dining Room on 22 February.

When Tay Tay tickets went on sale it was like the country was in lockdown all over again. No one on the roads, in schools and playgrounds.

Her concerts will be done and dusted by then. The veil of secrecy is only there for the lead-up.

I find it highly amusing she has a "veil of secrecy" given she's performing the same show all around the world.  People bring phones, they post on social media.  She can insist on secrecy all she wants, but unless she's doing completely diffferent shows each night, it's pretty pointless.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
