I take your point DC but Windsor will be introduced into the team in a similar way to Riv, Jacko, Kozzi and bowser. The coaches have managed the debutante’s extremely well so far.😁

riv, jacko, kosi - rd 1 from their debut season?

they were picked from the get go from memory

Kozzie debuted R1 2020 but Riv & Jacko debuted against Blues in June 2020.😁

Yes wwsw I must admit that I had forgotten that 3 mth break between R1 and R2 in 2020 and those three boys debuted in R1 & R2, how strange was that year? And just shows that we can’t place limitations on our new recruits.

No Dazz

I loved training today and i thought it was  lot more intense and more full on than it has been previously.   Wouldnt be surprised if theres one or two debutants in windsor and howes early in the season.  Very pleased that the gates are open to the public now, and it was lovely to meet you today Ros.

Comin' out of nowhere, drivin' like rain
Stormbringer dance on the thunder again
Dark cloud gathering, breaking the day
No point running 'cause it's coming your way
Ride the rainbow

The DEES ARE A coming
Time to die
Got to keep running
Stormbringer coming
They got all that you need
THE DEES WILL MAKE TEAMS bleed

You know their gonna get you
Rainbow shaker on a stallion twister
Bareback rider on the eye of the sky
DEES are a coming down, meaning to stay
Thunder and lightning heading your way
Ride the rainbow
Crack the sky
Stormbringer coming
Time to die
Got to keep running
THOSE DEES ARE coming
They got all that you need
VINES gonna make you bleed (yeah)

CLARRY  and VERRELL both doing a POWER OF RUNNING and sheeeeit does CLARRY look mean, fit and PUMPED

MATCH SIMULATION NOTES

Full match simulation of 4 quarters I which I saw 3 quarters

WINDSOR ... an abslute LOCK for round one, really surprised me with his turn of speed, precision set ps and pin piont disposal, might become our best ball user and Wow has he got some X FACTOR

DISCO TURNER ... probably the best I have seen him in match sims, deft movements, a turn of speed and makes very sound decisions

JACK BILLINGS …
another LOCK for ROUND 1 just uses it so well, makes excellent position and his decision making was fantastic

SHANE MC ADAM … took not 1 not 2 but 3 MARKS OF THE DAY, will complement Fritta magnificently, just knows where to position himself, very very dangerous arond goal and will be an absolute SURPRISE packet

ED LANGDON ... HAD IT ON A STRING , Elusive, quick, precise and typical Langdon run all day

ANDY MONIZ-WAKEFIELD ... Again I mention him and although quieter later was heavily involved of the back flank, wing and anywhere else, CAN PLAY

SPARGY PANTS ... The Salt and Pepper man was in everything, played very well and bobbed up all day

TAJ WOEWODIN … A lot to like, gets involved is fearless and sets up the play very very well. One to definately keep an eye on

KYNAN BROWN … Just NEVER GIVES IN, just gives and Gives with second and third efforts, good skill set and elusiveness

SHACHE ATTACKY … Did some very good things took some marks, was very competetive with Max and although overshadowed, I can ALMOST see him playing round 1 based on today

ONE WORD SUMMATIONS

MAX, Outstanding
KOSSY Freakish
TOMLINSON Belongs
VINES Beast
MAY Fearless
LEVER Methodical
TRACC Superstar

A lot going right, very high standard game and one which should give the selectors plenty to think about in the coming weeks.

Cheers PF

P.S Saw one Slthera dead on the road , but still wisely went around it! 😱

Love your work Picket and a special mention to Brenno great stuff. A lot of talk about locks for the opening round would you be able to do a best 22 based on training? That would be great you know how much I love my best 22's.

Caleb Windsor looks to be the exact type of player we need through the middle.

Appreciate all the detailed reports here.  Thanks to PF, Brennon, WCW & anyone else i might have missed.

Just to confirm, Maysie left the track after 20 min or so yes?  If so that is a real concern.

Might be best to put him in cotton wool for a while, fully assess and go from there?

Last thing we need is May breaking down with a nagging niggle throughout the season.

No Petty, May and/or Clarry early would be a real bummer.

One thing I forgot to say and I dont know how I overlooked it but Nibbler was in sensational form and has improved his disposal😁

Agree with those who say that Windsor looked great in that highlight reel.

Hard to draw solid conclusions from clips like that but promising signs IMO.

He really moves well - reminds me so much of a young R Flower. No pressure on the young lad or unrealistic expectations this year but boy he looks to have great balance

Your training reports are getting more over the top by the session! At this rate we’ll win the flag and a first year player will own the members wing, Schache will win the Norm Smith and Nibbler will become the most loved Demon!
Keep it coming!

Some much better forward entries and some good pace on the footy in those highlights.

Playing on inside 50 too which might be an example just to get used to sharing the ball.

Windsor looking more comfortable than I’ve seen him the last 2 Wednesdays. That raw pace could really open things up

I was excitied by some of the highlights i saw as well. As a trackwatcher DS are we getting a bit ahead of ourselves though, are teh match sims full on or just 13 v 13?

What i mean by that is, it looks pretty now in Feb but come July/August it's cold and the game is on the line the F50 isn't quite so open.

  • GAMEDAY: Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons return to the MCG to face the Tigers in their annual Blockbuster on ANZAC Eve for the 10th time. The Dees will be desperate to reignite their stuttering 2025 campaign and claim just their second win of the season. Can the Demons dig deep and find that ANZAC Spirit to snatch back to back wins?

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

A few years ago, the Melbourne Football Club produced a documentary about the decade in which it rose from its dystopic purgatory of regular thrashings to the euphoria of a premiership victory. That entire period could have been compressed in a fast motion version of the 2025 season to date as the Demons went from embarrassing basket case to glorious winner in an unexpected victory over the Dockers last Saturday. They transformed in a single week from a team that put in a pedestrian effort of predictably kicking the ball long down the line into attack that made a very ordinary Bombers outfit look like worldbeaters into a slick, fast moving side with urgency and a willingness to handball and create play with shorter kicks and by changing angles to generate an element of chaos that yielded six goals in each of the opening quarters against Freo.

  • NON-MFC: Round 07

Round 7 gets underway in iconic fashion with the traditional ANZAC Day blockbuster. The high-flying Magpies will be looking to solidify their spot atop the ladder, while the Bombers are desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top eight. Later that evening, Fremantle will be out to redeem themselves after a disappointing loss to the Demons, facing a hungry Adelaide side with eyes firmly set on breaking into the top four. Saturday serves up a triple-header of footy action. The Lions will be looking to consolidate their Top 2 spot as they head to Marvel Stadium to clash with the Saints. Over in Adelaide, Port Adelaide will be strong favourites at home against a struggling North Melbourne. The day wraps up with a fiery encounter in Canberra, where the Giants and Bulldogs renew their bitter rivalry. Sunday’s schedule kicks off with the Suns aiming to bounce back from their shock defeat to Richmond, taking on the out of form Swans. Then the Blues will be out to claim a major scalp when they battle the Cats at the MCG. The round finishes with a less-than-thrilling affair between Hawthorn and West Coast at Marvel. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

The Dees are back at the MCG on Thursday for the annual blockbuster ANZAC Eve game against the Tigers. Can the Demons win back to back games for the first time since Rounds 17 & 18 last season? Who comes in and who goes out?
