Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Regarding Windsor, no reason why he cannot emulate the same similar year to Ollie Hollands from the blues. Though, Hollands biggest strength is his very elite endurance and work rate. He is a state cross country runner just to prove how good he is at this levelm

I'm not entirely sure where Windsor stacks up in terms of endurance levels etc, but going off his under 18's footage, he seems to have a high work rate which will hold him in good stead.

Interestingly, both drafted pretty much the same height and weight. Hollands had a great first year and played a crucial last quarter in their defeat against us in the final.

It may seem like huge expectations being placed on the kid, but I honestly can't see Hunter being a regular 22 anymore and think he'll start to get overworked by  quicker and more pacey wingers such that are coming through the competition.

Certainly think there is an opportunity there for Windsor if he can grab it with both hands.

Jacko, Kozzie and Riv all played year 1, so I won’t be surprised if the Duke and the Kolt get games early in their careers.😁

Langdon had a down season.

It happens.

Doesn't mean he's going to have a down season this year.

I think he will be back at his best.

...but at this stage we're all guessing.

I am on the Hunter's disposal is not up to it band wagon, and ready for some experimentation on the wings, as mentioned in the clarry thread, I also think Hunter gets alot of easy ball, he needs to repay that trust and effort from the backline with better disposal. Langdon I view through rose coloured glasses, however I think they may come off if he doesn't look more deadly with his kicking. He still does all the running the coaches love, but his finishing has dropped as well. Also I felt like his last second burst speed has dropped off, he always seemed to have an extra gear to anyone else and now it seems like he has come back to the pack a little over 2023. I don't want to give up on him because of previously mentioned glasses, but can see why he is in discussion. As for Sidebottom having a win against him, well Sidebottom has been making other players look foolish for a long time, not the worst bloke to lower your colours too (but very frustrating for us fans).

I agree 'dazz'...

He might not have the elite endurance of Holland but he does have it over him in skill and pace.

There's a spot there for him.

Choco had a crack at the umps in some tackling drills telling them to pay frees as they see fit. “ we are paying you guys to pay em” he yells.

Re:Fullerton injury,  the training session today went for over 3 hours.  Fullerton appeared to damage it right at the end of it which is shocking luck. Whether it happened abruptly or not we don’t know, but to me that was a bit of mismanagement of his running loads.

So nobody should partake in a 3 hour session, in your opinion?

With Fullerton possibly out for sometime surely the club has to look at a pre-season or selection ( if we can put someone on the inactive /long term injury list ) on a back up mature aged ruck from a state league ?

if Max went down now we would be stuffed in the ruck

When?  Whom?

I would be shocked if Langdon/Hunter aren’t our preferred wings by year end.

Partly because Goody is a creature of habit and is shy to make radical change, partly because Langdon and Hunter are the best two wingmen of those 4.

I’m guessing Windsor is earmarked for next season (or the following).

Billings the possible one to be challenging the incumbents but that’d surprise me as well.

Woewoden ??

It happened at the end of a 3 hour session. That to me suggests it was fatigue based. I’m no expert so could be totally wrong.

Sure could be, probably are in fact.

Hunter needs to be replaced by a raking kick with pace and neat skills.....Windsor? but can he get there this year? Do you try Bowey, Billings or even Spargo on the wing? Does Rivers go there? Wasn't Howes next in line? This is not to criticise Hunter but we need an upgrade, especially as Langdon has dropped off/been found out/is very beatable. What was once a massive strength of ours feels like we've been comfortably overtaken by others.

Maybe Bowey or Billings.  Not Spargo though.  And as mentioned above, maybe Woey

On Matchday yes. Umps clearly confused so went with default mode.

i reckon its great that all the options have different skills, as it gives really good flexibility in using the squad to give players rest or exposure depending on their  development. Also in providing better match up on opposition and play different structures so opposition coaches cant just develop a single plan to combat us.

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,
