Is there any way we could include their salary? (Estimated of course)

It would be an interesting exercise to know how much cap space we have.

Would be pretty hard to guess. Some would be front end, others back end. Some would be similar each year.

Plus the media can over estimate salaries for a lot of players.

I remember an AFL player was a client at a company I work at and he was a pretty high profile player. I saw his annual salary and it was less than I thought he would've been getting....

ELDiablo I think you would need to get the players and player managers to agree and it would have to be league wide and a guess is just a guest.

I think we can at least divide them in 'tiers'.

Tier 1 for bonafide superstars like Petracca, Oliver and Max

Tier 2 for starting 22 type players like Viney, Langdon, Fritsch

And so on.

Just to have a rough idea of how much the club can spend during any given offseason.

Imagine what a nightmare job it would be ELDiablo14 trying to manage 44-46 players salary’s the players you would miss out on because you can’t fit them in the cap and the ones you need to move on to free up spots, etc. How stressful would it be.!

minimal coin 1 year contract: tmac, melksham, hore

I assume thr rest of the rookies will be kept on

In the gun for 2025: billings, fullarton

I would also be letting Hore go, he is very very slow when he gets the ball, much rather try a kid!

The 2024 list has been talked about

The 2025 list only has 2 certainties to go

But the 2026 list only has 2 that I would say are certain to get contracts extended.  Either through age or failure to meet expectations of improvement (doesn't mean they won't improve by then).

Is there a reason why Judd McVee has not signed beyond 2025?

I've been told we are in extension talks with him now

So 10 players aged 30+ next year, all of whom missed games this year through injury (except Jack the unbreakable).

Let's hope they can all stay on the park next year!

But you'd guess 3 of them might not be there. So say 7 out of 45.  I think only 5 would get regular games.  Maybe I'm wrong

I'd like to open this to hear everyone's thoughts on our out of contract players and potential list changes.

To my understanding, and please correct me if I'm wrong, the mandatory three delistings have already been achieved through Brown, Brayshaw, and Smith. With that said, my thoughts for the following are below:

- Sign McDonald if possible. As a UFA losing him will serve us absolutely no gain unless if he's asking for too much from a salary cap perspective (following a good season down back).

- Promote Hore to the main list. I actually rate him as a player and believe he wasn't given enough opportunity to string multiple games together at the AFL level (clearly a step-up from VFL). He will be a cheap acquisition to the main list and provides great depth as a ready-made player (at worst).

- Likewise for Melksham. If he's not ready to hang up the boots, I feel he still has plenty to offer and will come cheap from a salary cap perspective. At worst, he provides excellent depth to the forward line as a ready-made AFL player. He's touted to be an excellent club-man and currently given our alleged culture that in itself is worth gold.

- Promote Moniz-Wakefield, simply because I like the cut of your jib :)

- Absolutely DELIST Schache, surely a reason isn't required.

- Delist Hunter and Tomlinson if better players or depth can be acquired to replace them (such as Houston and Parker).

- Not too fazed by the rest of them.

Please share your thoughts.

GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
