Huh! Many of us in rural areas are on septic!

I guess that means that Werribee doesn't take c rap from just anybody.

Yeah it is just you.

Joel Smith is awaiting instruction from the AFL for his hearing.

He is in contact with Gary Pert, Alan Richardson and Reece Conca. He has also spoken to Goody.

The AFL system is so broken. There is a provision for only a one month ban if the player undertakes an education program. So the ban should be finished already but if what you say is correct,  they haven’t even set a date for the hearing and apparently don’t even have an accredited education program in place. So it will be way more than a month at this point when it should have already been over.

Would have thought the penalty is back dated to the charging date, as long as the player has started serving that penalty at that time. Certainly that is the way the media articles were reading.

Great, that gives the new kids a week to pack up and settle in to their new digs before preseason kicks off, pretty short notice when you think about it. Plus interviews meeting the coaches, players and staff members, their heads will be spinning. Lol.!!!

Not an ounce of fat on any of them, is that Adams or Faris- White, has spent a lot of time in the gymnasium on the weights.😃

The AFL will want him to serve the 3 months rather than 1, plus a club games ban, to avoid the confusion around WADA v AFL issued suspensions for the likes of Elijah Hollands. As always managing the optics will take priority over getting a fair result for the individual.

And of course the AFLPA will keep their heads in the sand as per usual.

I hope Joel can be back at the club as soon as possible but I’m also fine with him getting a good club imposed ban when the time for it comes.

Early returns suggest he’s not great at the whole football part of being a footballer but KFW is nailing the being tall and an imposing athlete part.

Thanks DeeSpencer KFW is showing intent, could be a big year for him at Casey in 2024. He is building into brute mode.!!

JVR looks absolutely primed

Looking forward to seeing if Jefferson has managed to put on a few kegs in the off season. I was looking for some YouTube footage of our new recruits when I stumbled across the 2022 game of Vic Metro vs WA when he kicked 7!! Don’t think anybody managed to kick a bag that big in this years champs.

I remember an interview he gave this year where he mentioned he’s already put on 6/7kg. If he managed to put on the same again he will be an interesting watch this preseason.

Was thinking exactly the same. It'll be interesting to see how the remainder of the 2022 drop crop are looking too given we went tall. Looks like KFW is off to a good start.

Anyone got a time and place? Can we say Gosch’s with confidence?

My go-to for all things training sessions says it’s definitely at Gosch’s. It’s scheduled for 9am but that’s something that often changes. I’d say it won’t be any earlier than that though.

  • REPORT: Port Adelaide

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.

The Demons simply did not take their opportunities when they presented themselves and ultimately when down by 25 points effectively ending their finals chances. Goal kicking practice during the Bye?
