Great tackle Mithen

You know the umpiring has been bad when you're genuinely wondering if theyd pay that a free kick.

Lions defender was 2 feet from the kick off the ground

Not watchable. Gonna watch the cricket instead. So, so disappointed. WCW out. 👋 a little bit drunk and crying coz love the girls so much, hate seeing them go down like this.

i dont get anger and frustration. we finish first regardless. Lions playing for top 4

we’d be keeping our powder dry for finals

We finish 2nd and thus lose a home grand final if we play Adelaide.

Improved this qtr, but still can't find space to get a clear shot.

Interesting to see what happens when they play the crows in week 1.

We shouldn't go goaless for a  whole half

Has anyone noticed the clock is not stopping at all this quarter?

Unfortunately in AFLW they let it run down. Only last 2 mins of each quarter I believe they stop it. Easier to run down clocks in AFLW, a rule they should get rid of IMO.

So we've dropped top spot again.

Back to the cricket and hope we knock off the poms

I've got faith in this team to learn and rebound.

Really need to get our midfield humming and our run and carry going again.

Glad we ran out the game with no injuries but disappointing second half...  more important we rally from here through the finals.  Hopefully we can strategise some answers to Lions and the Crows from these losses.  Better now than in the finals series.

Very very poor showing.

Selection baffling with Campbell and Wilson out for Ivey and Watt (why?!), and Gall ultimately staying in the team.
We look very one-dimensional without Paxy and really missed Lampard and Gay’s steadiness in the backline. Gall looks to have talent but clearly is not ready for finals-like footy.

Brisbane destroyed us with footy smarts. A lot of really dumb decisions, particularly by West who had a stinker.

Such a frustrating watch.

  • POSTGAME: Hawthorn

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.

  • NON-MFC: Round 09

Round 9 kicks off out west with the Dockers hosting a Collingwood side resting several stars. Fremantle need to make a statement on their home deck after some disappointing form on the road, while the Magpies will be keen to maintain their Top 2 position. Friday night sees a must-win clash between two sides desperate to stay in touch with the eight. St Kilda have shown glimpses while Carlton are clinging to relevance after a flat start to the season. Saturday’s twilight game at Marvel pits the Bombers against a struggling Sydney outfit. Essendon can’t afford another close match against a lower-ranked side, while the Swans risk sliding down the ladder even further. Up in Darwin, the fourth-placed Suns will look to extend their stay in the top four. The Bulldogs have hit their stride with three big wins on the trot and will be very keen to consolidate on their momentum. The always fiery Showdown looms as pivotal for both clubs. Adelaide are eyeing a spot in the Top 4 with a win, while Port Adelaide’s season could slip away if they drop another game and fall further behind the pack. Sunday begins with a yawn fest between Richmond and West Coast. The Tigers need to bank the points to stay clear of the bottom two, while the Eagles are still chasing their first win of the year. The Giants face one of the league’s toughest road trips as they travel to GMHBA Stadium to face the Cats. With GWS at risk of a third straight loss, Geelong will be eager to consolidate their position inside the eight and start their climb up the ladder. The round wraps up with the top-of-the-table Lions heading to Ninja Stadium to take on the second-last Roos. The Lions should easily take care of the struggling Roos who might be powerless against the best in the comp. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?
