Did Bernie say it’s a realistic possibility? This worries me a little 😳

Contracted until 2025 so no way we let him go. Would just about close our flag window unless we found a suitable quality tall replacement, of which there are none.

A must keep at all costs - he's crucial as a swingman.

Petty is one of the best aerial players in the game, I’d be surprised if lots of clubs don’t ask the question.

If he goes, we are in strife

Would take a ridiculous offer. If they offer Jordan Dawson as part of the deal perhaps

Pretty sure this started because some Crows nuff on Twitter thought McAdam for Petty and a pick is a good deal.

Adelaide being such a small town it then bounces around and comes back as some form of valid rumour.

Giants up at half time. If they beat Port we get pick 13?? Fraction more trade power for us!

Wasn't that nuff the bloke who sat out the game for a year because he didn't wanna play for Melbourne in Darren Jarman? [censored].

I would if he wasnt turning 36 next year.

But he's genuinely cooked mate. Not that he was overly quick but his awareness and sharpness around stoppages have declined significantly.

Champion player, but he needs to.retire gracefully.

Boak has played well tonight. He’s still a solid AFL midfielder.

The last thing we need in our midfield right now is a slow 36 year old.

Giant mids running rings around him on the outside.

Speed and outside skill is what we want.

Tom Lynch will play all next year at 31yo. If his foot is OK he should be able to play at least 2 more years. He's a very good player.

Lynch has 2 years to run on his contract at Richmond, he's not going to play in their next flag. Their first pick last year was 49 and they have 25, 44, 62, 80 this year.  They may be looking to improve their draft hand and Lynch would be valuable collateral along with Dusty.

I'd definitely be interested.

Saw him in South Yarra two days ago hobbling slowly in a moon boot… hasn’t he been out since early in the season with that  injury?

the irony of Richmond trying to ship off a bloke with a bung foot to us.

Our first four picks are locked in prior to the trade/fa period and any potential North compensation.

We have: 5, 13, 24 and 32

I think we need to look at upgrading both our wingers and Salem looks cooked. But we’re potentially losing a lot of inside midfield depth, with Harmes, Jordon and Dunstan leaving and Brayshaw in some doubt. And I think we really need to try and win it next year given May and Gawn are both 32 next season.

We could really use a key forward and pacy pressure small forward, like Jesse and Toby.

Giants proving you don't need to go out and spend big on a ruckman.

They have a no name ruckman who just competes and gives 110% each contest.

If we can go and find someone of similar ilk to Briggs then that's all we need right now.

I think we even conceded that in the last 4 or 5 games too, having our mids take multiple inside 50 ruck contests.

Maybe Goody and co are finally in Bevo's corner.

I've posted about this in the past, but the ruck position is the most overrated and easy to exploit position in the game IMO.

Usually true, but Gawny is the exception to this, and every rule in life.

The opposition constantly sharks his taps.

Max is a brilliant mark around the ground, with an amazing tank, but he's often not on the same page as his mids (tapping to really dangerous areas or to outnumbers for us) and his taps are often sharked by the opposition.

As evident on Friday night...

bundle 24, 32 and our future first for GC pick 5? or do we need to include 13?

Is it realistic that we get 11 from Sydney?

No is the short answer.

He is ranked second of all rucks over the second half of the year. How much would he cost in trade now. Gawn was a no name ruck until he wasn’t. They just take time but they are hard to pick. This year there are available emerging but unproven rucks in Flynn, Hayes and Teakle. I am sure one of them can both do the job and maybe under Max could become the next Briggs.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
