Not one to be negative but……

Didn’t we learn anything from last year. Save this sort of stuff for GF week. Nothing to celebrate. Business as usual.

Here we go again! How to swing this one with work me thinks?

Already taking the Friday off and hoping to nick off early on Thurs.

Finals Training Sessions have always been big.
They get bigger each week

Doubt if last year’s finals campaign ended in misery due to an open training session. 🤔

These sessions are always conducted on the Clubs terms. It's about reward for the fans and if you are a player this can be so uplifting. I will never forget the training runs before the '87 and then the '88 Grand Final especially.

Bring them on I say. Go Dees.

PS Great photo autograph and merch opportunities for all.

Grand final week will they let us do an open session at the G?

I think both teams get a run on the G during GF week. Mostly for promotional purposes.

Collingwood is training on the G this Friday. They also have a lunch after. McCrae mentioned it last night on AFL360.

Love your optimism, Pf. Got us down for a spot in the granny already. 😁

Grand final week… not sure it’d be an open session. Although we’ve been told that after next Wednesday’s session there’s a couple more BBQs to be held at training sessions, we just don’t know when. Of course, this depends on how far we go into finals. Last year we did one before the second final and sadly didn’t need to do another (for the men’s anyways).

I'll be at the open session on the Wens-dy. See yous there !!

I can think of someone who will be having a conniption over my mauling of the English language. Can you guess who?

❤️💙 Open training at Gosch’s this morning ❤️💙

Those who are coming, make sure you visit the Demon Army tent for a snag in bread! Cheap, delicious and nutritionally sound (sort of). Last night Maysie messaged our incomparable grill-master extraordinaire saying, “save me a snag.” And if it’s good enough for Maysie, it’s good enough for everyone, amirite?!

Very sad I can’t make it. Stupid employment keeping me able to exist. So rude.

Surely there’s a free one for me?

They were great werent they and in the late 90s at the Junction oval. You really felt the club as a whole come together.

Will try my best to swing by. The only thing working in my favour is being 10 mins away from Gosch's.

Everyone have a good time!

  • REPORT: Brisbane

“Max Gawn has been the heart and soul of the Dees for years now, but this recent recovery from a terrible start has been driven by him. He was everywhere again, and with the game in the balance, he took several key marks to keep the ball in the Dees forward half.” - The Monday Knee Jerk Reaction: Round Ten Of course, it wasn’t the efforts of one man that caused this monumental upset, but rather the work of the coach and his assistants and the other 22 players who took the ground, notably the likes of Jake Melksham, Christian Petracca, Clayton Oliver and Kozzie Pickett but Max has been magnificent in taking ownership of his team and its welfare under the fire of a calamitous 0-5 start to the season. On Sunday, he provided the leadership that was needed to face up to the reigning premier and top of the ladder Brisbane Lions on their home turf and to prevail after a slow start, during which the hosts led by as much as 24 points in the second quarter. Titus O’Reily is normally comedic in his descriptions of the football but this time, he was being deadly serious. The Demons have come from a long way back and, although they still sit in the bottom third of the AFL pack, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel as they look to drive home the momentum inspired in the past four or five weeks by Max the Magnificent who was under such great pressure in those dark, early days of the season.

  • CASEY: Southport

The Southport Sharks came to Casey. They saw and they conquered a team with 16 AFL-listed players who, for the most part, wasted their time on the ground and failed to earn their keep. For the first half, the Sharks were kept in the game by the Demons’ poor use of the football, it’s disposal getting worse the closer the team got to its own goal and moreover, it got worse as the game progressed. Make no mistake, Casey was far and away the better team in the first half, it was winning the ruck duels through Tom Campbell’s solid performance but it was the scoreboard that told the story.

  • PREGAME: Sydney

Just a game and percentage outside the Top 8, the Demons return to Melbourne to face the Sydney Swans at the MCG, with a golden opportunity to build on the momentum from toppling the reigning premiers on their own turf. Who comes in, and who makes way?
