I really don’t like the stand rule or the insufficient intent one.

Bailey went over the mark by 2 steps late. Ump was directly side on, making it really obvious

Pretty sure it wasn't a "stand" infringement

AFL obligation to the ground

Still feels stupid that Carlton played GC at the MCG and this game is at Marvel.

Really poor defensive game. Both teams running freely between the two 50 metre lines. It looks even, but at least one of them need to tighten the crews a bit. Not finals standard footy at all.

This game couldn’t be more different to our game last week versus Carlton.

No argument it's stupid

Collingwood tried to swap with game a couple of weeks back, in order to Max crowd at G with top 2 clash

I'd prefer to not play home games in NT...

Collingwood’s defence looks super ordinary.

If Moore isn’t back in top shape in finals they are cooked. They are already a poor defensive side. Add to that their risky ball movement and they just cannot defend turnovers.

Collingwood's backline is not the same without Moore, would prefer to play them as well.

[censored] good grab that

I know we need Brisbane to lose, but gee it’s a good night watching Collingwood implode

maybe famous last words…

Pies might have a Melbourne 2022 feel about them.. limping into finals, might be straight sets… can only hope

Laughing how Collingwood have to play a home game at marvel tonight

Pity they don't have to play at Cat Park, ever

+1

Just enforce the 50 meter when opponents hold on to or scrag the man with the free / mark.

IF they insist on retaining it then they need to make the kicker line up over the mark, yes even when deep in defence: otherwise it is a complete farce.

And the insufficient attempt requires an already confused umpire (far too many 'interpretative' rules) to read the kicker's mind.  Just keep "deliberate"

BT is an embarrassment. Always gets the most animated over fisticuffs, and clearly you can add a topless player to the list. 🙄

I know it’s better for us if Collingwood  win……but I JUST CAN’T barrack for the bestards .

I know I should move on, but it’s the ‘58 Grand Final which has given me permanent scars.

I want a Coll.win  by a point, with multiple injuries to both sides. I’m ashamed of that sentiment, but I have to be honest.

That was funny though

Commentary talking about great defences - that must be why there have been 13 14 goals kicked by now. 🤫

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
