I know it hasn’t worked that well, but I love seeing Grundy in the team and I’d love to keep him. Great ruck and a good footballer. I reckon it’d eventually click, or maybe it’s a surprise for finals who knows.

I also love that he's NOT in anyone else's team. All our premiership rivals would be better with Grundy.

I thought whether we played JJ, Harmes, Spargo or Woewodin was a moot point.

Shame JJ has not seized his opportunities in the second half of this season.

Excited for Laurie and adds further interest to the game. Good luck to him.

Sorry, I am not familiar with the terms KTF and TK. Please enlighten me.

KTF = Key Tall Forward

TF (not sure where you got TK from) = Tall Forward

I do not see how we can keep Grundy in the side this week that would be a mistake. I think Tomlinson in to push Smith forward while Hibberd has another week to recoup as the sub may be our best option.

People calling for JJ out I’m not sure who his replacement is. Dunstan, Harmes and Woey being the options I imagine. Not a fan of any of them unfortunately. Jim you’re a lucky lad once again

I agree, sad to say that we seem to play better with Grundy out of the team. I think J.J. should be dropped and maybe Laurie or someone of his ilk to come in.

Far too late in the season to be playing Laurie. Has shown nothing in his limited exposure before. Would much prefer known players like Spargo. I'd even take Taj before Laurie.

I expect Laurie to bounce straight out next week for Fritsch, and that'll be our settled side for finals...

We do need the backline authority of HIbberd, he can take on all comers so it may have been a wise decision (in his sunset) to not have him in the side against the Hawks but instead, to train and recover from niggles so that he is fit as a Mallee bull for the finals run.

JJ, Kozzie and Chandler - a triad of potential - pace, courage, skills - for Gawn sake, let them settle and control up forward.

Laurie’s disposals are up on 2022, over or close to 30 on a handful of occasions.

Disposals mean nothing to the Match Committee if it did they would promote Dunstan

Not sure which JJ you're talking about. He certainly doesn't have pace.

Correct.

Dunstan gets leather poisoning every game, but turns it over more than anyone I have seen.

Last week there was a stage where I think he he had 4 turnovers in a row, just kicking passes to the opposition.

A Saints mate told me when we got him that it has always been his issue.

I think he will leave this year.

Dees by five goals. It will be close for 3 quarters then we will pull away in the last. I am pushing my old body to go tomorrow. God knows where I will sit. Will need a couple of Single malts 7pm.

Oh boy. Just when I think you couldn’t possibly be any more offensive, you pull this out.

I don’t know what Pink Lady means to you, but it’s a large part of the reason I’m still here today, having not succumbed to the insidious disease that is breast cancer.

A little sensitivity wouldn’t go astray.

Personally 4th spot is our best option

From a supporter perspective it means only one interstate final - the prelim - if we go all the way. In any case the only team/ground combo I wouldn't automatically back us to win would be Brisbane at the Gabba. I reckon I'll be booking flights for finals depending on tomorrows result.

Collingwood is still most likely to finish 1st and we would back ourselves in to beat them. Meaning we'd never travel.

I'd rather play interstate in the QF than a Prelim.

Interesting and puzzling selection of Laurie at this time of year. I'd prefer a seasoned, experienced and hardened Hibberd, at least you know you can trust him.

I really don't think still playing with our forward setup with two rounds to go is great at all, it could well be the undoing of us in the end.

Hawks are playing good footy.

I feel getting Grundy when we needed a KPF last year is a real oversight by the club. We are just lucky JVR has come on and adapted quicker as it could have been horrible. I'm not as confident on Jefferson as some, yet...

So I'm thinking now 2nd is unlikely, it's got to be wherever we finish to play Collingwood first week.

Hard to guage Brisbane at the moment, I'm finding them a bit confusing to work out. When they're up and about they're very good. Two home finals will pretty much guarantee them a GF berth.

Saw some pics of TMAC at training and actually looks fit and trim, but he'll be so out of touch. I'm starting to think we have just got to play Brown or TMAC and put up with what they don't offer tbh. It just straightens us up a bit. Joel Smith isn't the answer as a KPF. Time will tell.

Wouldn't we have to travel if we come up against Brisbane or Port in the prelim? E.g. they finished higher on the ladder and so play a home game, or does us winning our Qualifying place us ahead of them from a home v away prelim perspective?

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
