If St. Kilda make the finals they have stolen a place in the 8

nah, if they make it they make it

but they play a pretty ugly brand of footy to watch

Dockers looking good this quarter

what is Ross Lyon doing? all he has is defence.

Saints have 1.4 in the second half. you’ve got max King up there scratching his [censored]

Had two knee replacements and really relate to what you are saying.

St Kilda kicking 1 goal in the second half against a Carlton side missing most of their starting midfield is just rubbish.

They had the chance to win this game, have blown it, and now face the slide that their form warrants.

They are [censored] stumbly , fumbly [censored] ants !

Geelong the likely side to replace the Saints in 8. Swans could take GWS slot but thats about it.

Carlton now 5th but who knows with that lot.

The Pies will almost certainly have a home QF final against Brisbane or Port (unless we slip up) so I can see them not playing Nick (after him being 5 weeks on the sidelines)

But a lot depends on the 6 weeks forecast.  Is that accurate? Or approximately?

Stab in the dark this far out I would have thought. At worst, depending on their finals games it might be prudent to save him until next season. With the way he plays they may be desperate to play him.

King  missed a crucial goal ( again) that may have changed the course of events

Geelong and Sydney are the most likely to pounce on St Kilda and GWS, who are the two most shaky current top 8 sides.

But if Adelaide beat Sydney in a fortnight (at home) and we then beat Sydney in Round 24, could also be Adelaide.

C'mon Freo 😅.
Jackson 126 SC pts at half time.
He's on a blinder.

St Kilda is the worst side in the 8 at this stage of the season, maybe ever.
Whoever plays them in finals is getting a week off.

  • PODCAST: Gold Coast

I’ll be away for the next few weeks, so Binman will be holding the fort for our podcasts covering the Suns, Bombers and Lions matches. As a result, there will be no live podcasts during this period, and we won’t be taking calls or voicemails. Binman will still be dipping into this thread to select a few questions to answer, while also combining the long-form Stats Files podcast with the Demonland Podcast for these shows. Your questions and comments are a huge part of what makes the podcast work, so please post anything you’d like to ask or say below and we’ll do our best to give you a shout-out on the show. Please try to keep each post focused on one specific topic or player to make podcast preparation a little easier. If you have multiple topics you’d like to raise, please put them in separate posts.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

Melbourne’s slow starts have been a troubling theme for a while. Against the Suns, they started slowly in both of their games, they trailed by 5.7.37 to 0.1.1 at quarter time at Peoples First Stadium in Round 16. This season, the story has remained the same and if the Demons fail to shake off this issue against the unbeaten Gold Coast Suns, they will be in serious danger of capitulating once again in their Easter Sunday showdown.
