That article is substandard.

”...more than unlikely...”

Ugh.

All based on the fact that WC haven’t accepted a deal to date, which would defy logic if they had.

Just terrible sports journalism.

Will be over soon, as WC need to decide to trade or not by 5pm this arvo...

Reckon we go for it if WC open, as our quality makes it hard for many kids to get top level exposure early in their careers... and we have flags to win.

No left foot. It's a huge risk for WCE to ignore the substantial offers being made for pick 1.

Did you mean Reid between the lines?

He's doing lines?

Crikey, stay away from this bloke! He's bad news!!!

I can remember my old mum taking newspapers to the Elsternwick market, in her shopping trolley, so that she might get a few shillings to buy some tripe, that I never eat these days.
but then we did live in a paper bag in the middle of road !

it was a long time ago !

Seems settled in the newspapers that the Eagles will take Reid.

Is it still a 2 year contract or did the proposal that the top draft picks get a three year contract get approved.

You have to wonder what the Eagle's retention approach will be. Cannot see that they will do much better than 14th during the next two years. No young talent coming through it seems.

Assuming he goes to a Melbourne club at the end of year 2 for say $1.5M x 6 years would the Eagles get anymore than say pick 8 and a future first

It’s three year contracts from next year onwards - so it does give the Eagles a bit more insurance

A paper bag in the middle of the road huh, fancy tripe eating pants! You rich people want to just rub it in ... we lived under tree bark in a laneway at the bottom of a hill where the rain water would pool!

It was a long time ago!

PS - reckon WC will do a deal for pick 1 on draft night.

It's 3 years and he'll be king of Perth by then. Good luck getting him back. Maybe by FA age like Chris Judd after he has a flag there.

Luxury!

We would gather the water left over from No. 31’s pooling to drink then trudge 20 miles to the tissue box we lived in … and … considered ourselves lucky.

Nigel Satyerley and property development will be their retention strategy as it was for Judd and Simpson

Sounds like we’ll need to make a “Visy Environmental Ambassador” for $500k pa type offer to get him back out!

Imo we are still a chance to get Reid.

It all depends on the certainty of Curtin getting to our pick 6.

Roos and Dogs won’t take him, as Roos are still gun shy because of JHF and apparently want Zane and Coby and Dogs have too many talls.

The Hawks are the key to a Reid deal by not taking Curtin.

Which is maybe why we’re trying to work out a deal with Hawthorn for pick 4.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
