Enjoy while it lasts. Would you put money on them not winning a flag by 2029?

Its the Eagles . They' ll get loads of love from Dillon . Its how the corporate world works. Their supporters  will still turn up because they know.  Will Stkilda win a flag before them?

i would put my house on them not winning a flag by 2029.

this isn’t just a tanking year. they have done major damage to their list. name their good players under 27yo

theyll get some good kids but all the senior guys leaving in the next couple years will hurt. they haven’t hit bottom yet

This has been coming for West Coast. I've been surprised their fanbase haven't mutinied already but surely today is the final straw. Simpson out for starters but the whole club is rotten, top to bottom. May they languish for the next decade.

Their list manager appointments have been atrocious:
2010 - Craig Vozzo
2014 - Adrian Battiston
2016 - Brady Rawlings
2019 - Darren Glass
2021 - Rohan O'Brien

In the last 10 years, 5 appointments. We have had 1 in that time

Oscar Allen, Reuben Ginbey, Elijah Hewitt off the top of my head.

And they belatedly appointed a fitness guy (very late in December last year) who had minimal experience and has been in charge of at least 15 soft tissue injuries this year

Though we have a strong percentage, most of our ladder position rivals still have games against WC. Cant take it for granted it gives us an edge over close rivals and we need to keep winning.

yep. very light on. Kelly probably under 27 still

most teams would have a couple of guns and a dozen good players under 27

What's the significance of 186? The biggest losing margin is still 190 point when we lost to Fitzroy at Waverley in 1979.

Regarding Jayden Hunt, did any other clubs make him an offer?

One of the great things about a 23 game season is that we get to see WC get belted another 9 times.

AFL record

I would venture to say there has never been a lower % after 14 rounds ever

Still don’t understand why we got rid of Hunt. I feel so sorry for him having to live through this garbage.

feel for him too.

but we got rid of him as he couldn’t perform consistently or reliably.

WC Premiership players: Duggan, Barrass, Yeo, Darling, Shuey, Sheed
Seasoned AFL players: Kelly, Gaff, Witherden, Hunt, Allen, Petrevski-Seaton, Petrucelle

It's a disgrace

AFL record

Hi dice. As opposed to VFL/AFL combined?

I guess so. Let's just hope one team, one day, can wipe away both records in one foul swoop

St Kilda had a % of 39.1……….in the 1900 season 🤣

Would love it to be us over Geelong.

I blame the Dees Team Manager for that record loss.

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.

  • POSTGAME: Essendon

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

  • GAMEDAY: Essendon

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?
