I presume he's on an IV to ensure that any infection is nuked well in time for the game.

It's a blister. He'll be right,

They couldn’t miss that night, they were 7 straight at one stage.

Also, they kicked 6 straight against us on QB in the last. Add that to the 7.0 in the R21 game and it’s 13.0 in two and half quarters.

This is another reason we've tried to model our game on theirs and early in the season, our accuracy was very much like theirs in key games last year.

But much of this is about where their players kick goals from. Often very central positions.

Got to be unlikely to play now must be quite sever to need an IV, don’t understand how a fit young guy can’t fight off a simple infection from a blister naturally.

Kids are so soft these days.

Jesus now they’ve severed it off???!!

I think it is because hard training puts a fair bit of stress on the body and that stress can effect the immune response.

the IV is just to deliver the antibiotics the most efficient way possible.  Sounds worse than it is.  Could still easily play in 5 days

I recall a few years ago one of our players talking about how they all constantly manage blisters on their feet. Some of the mids have numerous blisters most of the season, such is the amount of running they do.

I would suggest Clarry gets enough of the ball to have blisters covering his hands!

It’s just some antibiotics. Everyone calm down.

Who amongst us hasn’t woken up on a Monday morning in need of a jab, and then bounced back to be out again on the Friday night?

So true. Back in my days, we’d just cut the foot off.

You must have been rich and could afford a knife Jaded.

In my neighbourhood, we'd get the dog to gnaw it off.

In my neighbourhood it would go in the pot for stock.

Channel flicked onto Footy Classified just in time to hear Maguire make comment about Oliver.

He could hardly contain his joy about Oliver being in hospital with an IV in his arm. Also scoffed about him returning after only having two weeks of for a hamstring injury.

I really hope and want the Dees to win next Monday even more now, with Oliver BOG.

Yep and an overnight stay and iV delivered antibiotics should clear it up quickly.

The wound will also get special treatment further improving chances.

Hopefully his rehab had finished and no more loading was required.

Worst football show on television. Would never watch it on principle - and I have low standards

I reckon it'd be even better if we gave Clarry another week off and beat them anyway.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
