Looked like he was out cold. No chance he plays next week. Looked very very sad post game.

This, unless Petty is ready as well. Then it's either Smith or Tomlinson depending on where we want to play him.

Has it ever snowed at the MCG?

Seriously the only way we win is accuracy on our part and inaccuracy on theirs

Accuracy on our part? Surely you jest

In: Oliver, Turner     Jordon (sub)

Out: Bowey (conc), Tomlinson    Harmes (sub)

Brayshaw back for Bowey

Turner for Tomlinson (Pies not as tall but need to play 3 talls to free up Lever)

Be interesting to see Grundy next week.  I bet the filth barrackers will be disgusting towards him even though they [censored] him off.

He certainly won’t get cheered like Jackson did.

He looked like it, will be missed next week

I think we all need the 10 day break. Players and supporters alike.

Out. Bowey (concussed), Harmes (suspended/omitted), Smith (omitted)

Ins. Hibberd, Oliver, Ben Brown

I don't care what Benny is doing wrong in the eyes of the coaches, he's still good for a cheap free and mark each week. That's 2 goals we could use. Didn't mind the Smith experiment but it didn't work. Stick to what you know. I'll also cop TMac back if he's fit.

Harmes will cop a week for his bump but will be dropped either way. When he cops his week I expect it to be one of the shorter threads in Demonland's history. Great clubman and servant, but he's not up to it at the minute.

Not sure who I'd play as sub in my scenario. Maybe Chandler? I prefer the sub to have a bit of X-Factor rather than the 23rd man which is generally another vanilla midfielder.

I will soon have my break by sitting on a plane for 14 hours..

Still deciding if I am going to stay up to watch the KB game (it'll be at 11 pm first bounce for me).

I’ll be watching Casey this weekend. I suggest BB lovers might want to as well. There’s no universe where he gets a game at the level.

Unfortunately Bowey will miss a week (or two) with concussion.  Maybe  Hibbo (or Disco if Hibbo doesn't get up).

Harmes will be offered 2-3 for what a couple of Cats were not even cited.  Oliver back according to coach.

Otherwise probably no change.  Goody said that Smith provided a point of difference so will probably stay (unless BB has a pearler at Casey).

Raised this on the game thread but if Viney’s opponent’s head made contact with the ground in the tackle then he’ll get an automatic 1 week at the MRP I’d imagine.

I dunno, he has exposed form at AFL level over many years now. He's not a world beater but if he struggles for impact in subpar conditions at Casey then I don't think that should put a line through his name. Joel Smith was promoted off less.

My mail is that BBB will come in after the bye.  Apparently he is doing a mini pre-season again like in 2021 and they want him firing for end of year

Can't say I have much in the way of proven footy connections so we'll see 😂  as an optimist this mail certainly fits my confirmation bias

Then where’d the information come from? Your cousins second best friends wife?

  • GAMEDAY: West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?

  • FEATURE: 1925

A hundred years ago today, on 2 May 1925, Melbourne kicked off the new season with a 47 point victory over St Kilda to take top place on the VFL ladder after the opening round of the new season.  Top place was a relatively unknown position for the team then known as the “Fuchsias.” They had finished last in 1923 and rose by only one place in the following year although the final home and away round heralded a promise of things to come when they surprised the eventual premiers Essendon. That victory set the stage for more improvement and it came rapidly. In this series, I will tell the story of how the 1925 season unfolded for the Melbourne Football Club and how it made the VFL finals for the first time in a decade on the way to the ultimate triumph a year later.
