As a lawyer, if I do any more criminal matters, my clients will be dressed in Carlton jumpers, because then you clearly can’t be guilty.

Seriously, I said in another post that this guy simply makes it up.

Pin arms, don’t pin arms, injury, no injury, hit head, don’t hit head, sling, don’t sling, drive into ground, don’t drive into ground, duty of care, no duty of care, possibility of injury, reasonable player, no reasonable player, aggressive action, not aggressive action and tonight’s new reason, long hair of the victim makes it look worse than it is.

How can you not ridicule this system and the people running it.

The word "corrupt" is used a lot.

I don't believe the system is corrupt - It is just totally brocken.  [censored] is a far more appropriate description ... but I'm not allowed to use that word.

I'm not just talking reports and the MRO, it's also the umpiring and inconsistency in paying free kicks within games. I certainly no longer have a clue as to what's going on - I don't think I'm alone.

During the JVR stupidity, I quoted Jordan Lewis' comments on 360.

I believe they are still the best summary of the current [censored] up in our game , so I'll restate them -

" The AFL is making up the rules as they go"

This is where the club needs to call it out...someone has to....

Won't matter to us...we're marked.  But for christ sake have a go...  Put it out there... the non accredited press will pick it up... theyll love it.

Say nothing ...expect same.

AFL...beyond corrupt

I hope Sydney appeal and asks for a comparison of Parker’s and the other two let-offs.

First time in my entire life, I don’t want to go to the footy! The AFL, the big clubs, the corrupt system, the umpires etc. Rules for some and not others. It’s shameful, biased and dishonest.

Feel exactly the same. I have a reserved seat .Seriously thinking of giving it the flick. And not rejoining the club.

It's corrupt... you know it is. You're not stupid, you're reasoned. You understand things as they are.

What do you see ??

X ends in Y... if certain clubs.

Nonsensical citations result in Z if certain clubs.

Media... Zzzzzzzzzz

Sorry... Accredited media... ZZzzzzzzzz

This is all bought and sold.

How can you even put a spotlight on this? The media seem complicit as the 360 panel don’t seem to care that much. If it was me, I’d be confused AF and telling everyone as much as anyone would care to listen.

How does the collective fan base hold the AFL to account?

I think our difference is semantics bb.

I don't believe the AFL is "corrupt" in the sense that Gleeson receives a paper bag for a particular finding, or that umpires get a bonus for awarding free kicks to influence an outcome.

However, I will agree that certain outcomes, or the sometime  success of one team over another, will suit the AFL's profit making agenda better than others.

Perhaps "unscrupulous" or maybe "amoral" would better suit us both ?

In my view though, my original descriptor of [censored] up is most apposite.

Thinking about things you cannot realistically change will just do your head in. The trick is to think of something else.
Did you know that since Carlscum’s inception in 1897 that we have never beaten them in a Friday night game? (I sourced this from what another poster put on another thread).

So…… be angry, rock up the the G, make some noise and see the boys rectify this embarrassing record.  It will make you feel better. GO DEES! (And I don’t want to be outnumbered by their fans!)

Didn't the AFL change the rules so you can't compare different incidents at the appeals tribunal? They want to make it appear to be a law court, but take out the opportunity of precedence.

The AFL are just absolute pretenders, and Gil is top dog.

Yes. That’s why they’re all just litigation rubbish arguing over specific words instead. It’s pathetic.

Hewett is concussed is he not? Or has that changed?

Yes, but I was referring to him getting off at the Tribunal, because he was charged with striking with the wrong forearm, even though they can amend, they let him off a couple of weeks ago.

I am 71, have loved the game and especially the MFC, since I was about 5 and I am now at the stage, where I only want to go to games, to be with my kids and grandkids.

I detest what I see happening to the game, which is run imo purely for money.

People are ripped off at every turn by the AFL.  AFL members are forced to pay $10.00 on top of membership for a seat at the G, for many games, instead of just being allowed to walk up.

The fixturing is completely unfair and of its own, makes the whole competition a compromised sport.

The umpiring is inconsistent.

The MRO and Tribunal are a joke.

The media because of accreditation are sycophants, too scared to report honestly.

Everything is a deal, or fixed by a deal.

Players now are unsure how to play the game and as an example, against Freo, I watched Melbourne players actually hesitate before going for the ball or tackling.

Games being played on school nights, so families are denied the ability of attending.

Blasting music so loud you can’t talk to people next to you.

Excessive Politicising of the game.

My love of the game has been severely diminished by its administrators, who couldn't run a BBQ without giving everyone food poisoning.

I detest the direction of the game, that these people have taken it in and I am not referring to efforts to make it safer.

Yes they have improved the viewing facilities, with some new grounds and refurbishments, but they have imo achieved little else.

At least I have my memories of hard, tough, skillful footy, umpired reasonably, with penalties at Tribunals that were pretty consistent and people loving the game and actually living for it.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
