I wonder ifMr Christian was watching closely last night.

I saw two slam tackles with the head banging into the ground, and two hip to head causing concussion.

Were the tacklers wearing red and blue all would be suspended 2-3 weeks without a shadow of doubt.

This is a real test for him and the sanctimonious AFL of their impartiality.

Poor coaching by Voss tonight.

Let Longmire play the game on his terms.

Heeney played Cripps out of the game.

Would have been smart to move Cripps forward.

Never looked like making any moves like that. Crud coaching performance.

I’m terrified of losing to them.

Yeah I definitely don't want a spark up Blues performance, that would be suckhouse

From Carlton Big Footy:

Melbourne, bombers, gold coast, the bye. 4 tough games coming up

They generally dont seem very happy

walsh should, but won't, go for that sling tackle

Carlton have the best lawyers in the business. He will not miss even a quarter.

I know St Kilda will win, but hoping the Hawks pull off an upset.

Not sure I like the idea of St Kilda replacing us in the top 4 if we don’t get the job done.

Cerra a week for his tackle last night

The way he’s going that probably makes Carlton better.

lol

Exactly. Saints far exceeding expectations

Can’t say the same for Melbourne.

What I wouldn’t give for Toby Greene in our side!

Coaches will drain the flare out of him and our players wouldn’t use him effectively.

Anyone else feeling a sneaky Hawthorn upset or do I need less coffee today?

Great effort there Layzie.

Turns out the coffee wasn’t needed.

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.
