Getting my footy fix in a few! Non-MFC, that is. Got a cut lunch, a compass (and my passport 😁) and I’m not too far from Coldstream. Rocking navy and white (feels weird) and I’ll have a choice of Coldstream FC headwear for today courtesy of one of the Fritta fellahs.

GO…….!!!
LOL I don’t even know their nickname 🤭

PS out here in the eastern burbs you don’t have to show your receipt in order to get the maccas staff to unlock the toilet door for you!!! 🤯

PPS: Go the Streamers!

 Carna  Coldy Cougars!

There could be some cougars at the upcoming Silent Disco 🤫 🕺, although you won’t hear them until it is too late…

We will find out on Monday if we're an elite team. Elite teams dont play like we have recently and will overwhelm the wounded tigers.

Lose and we're back with the pack.

True but the swans game sure looked elite to me.

C.f. the rubbisg freo served up last night.

Nothing that I love more on a Saturday afternoon than to have my ears assaulted by Kel and Derm. I suppose that’s the price I pay for being a footy addict.

Is there a WC Translater about?

Anyone?

From memory, WCW is going to watch Fritsch's younger brother play for a local or VFL club (presumably Coldstream) which has blue and white colours.  She's decked out in those colours to support the boy by dusting off her clothes from the bad old days of being forced by family to masquerade as a Carlscum supporter...!  Fritter will be watching too.  Also I guess they let her out of St Albans for good behaviour (and not just MFC games)!

How'd my translation matrix go, @WalkingCivilWar 😁

Not sure if you're getting paid for this DP.  If not it might be time to put your hand up!

Absolutely spot on, DP! Thank goodness you speak fluent WCW. 😁 You’re a quick learner since you only had the duration of our Brisbane game to learn it. 🧐

Local footy update: Coldstream ressies got thumped and now the seniors aren’t doing well, either. Darcy Fritta is playing shiiit. His mum’s words, not mine. UDL cans going down very nicely. 🤭

I miss playing on Saturday afternoons.

It's amazing a week ago all the media got to Adelaide but this week the fox commentators call from the studio

Survival mechanism, WCW 😁

Respectfully, if one of the Fritsch footy boys had to have a bad weekend playing... I do prefer that it was Darcy.  But that being said, CARN COLDSTREAM!!!

You and Pauline (or is that Nibbler's mum?) enjoy those UDLs.  I'll stick to my red wine and try not to burn my herb pilaf!

Fair effort from West Coast given the players out. I give them a chance to knock off the Blues next week. Wont be using my money to bet on them but still a chance.

Good luck to you Oskar Baker. Looked at home in the AFL. Not the top of the class but has been very handy for the Bulldogs so far.

Yes and a real shame he wasn't given any opportunities by our BT in 21 & 22.

It gets even better for us next week Flogmantle Vs Brisvegas IN BRISVEGAS...... 100 Point thumping comin right up!!

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The media has performed a complete reversal in its coverage of the Melbourne Football Club over the past month and a half. Having endured intense criticism from all quarters in the press, which continually identified new avenues for scrutiny of every aspect, both on and off the field, and prematurely speculated about the departures of coaches, players, officials, and various employees from a club that lost its first five matches and appeared out of finals contention, the narrative has suddenly shifted to one of unbridled optimism.  The Demons have won five of their last six matches, positioning themselves just one game (and a considerable amount of percentage) outside the top eight at the halfway mark of the season. They still trail the primary contenders and remain far from assured of a finals berth.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

  • POSTGAME: Sydney

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.
