what is it about Hoges, never takes a game apart. should have 5 and theyโ€™d be home

If he could kick straight he'd be B+ to A grade.ย  Such a commanding presence and a beautiful mark

Wouldn't mind him in our team right now but that's the stuff of dreams.ย  Bridges might have been burnt.ย  But the boy can play!

Mind you, the game was tough of my aging eyes ... bright orange & yellow everywhere.ย  Had to turn the brightness down on the telly

I hope we are at Norwood next year.ย

Collingwood look off tonight and are missing their ruckman, De Goey and McStay might be out for the game.

The scary thing about St Kilda is that theyโ€™re not even close to full strength.

They epitomise what work rate and effort can do. Talent doesnt make as much difference as it used to. If they keep winning and get back their stars theyโ€™ll go deep.ย

We forget that they used to be a reasonable team before they fell off the face of the earth with no apparent reason.ย

no way the Saints will be able to keep this up over the season. itโ€™s all pressure and manic play ย

Ross is doing the right thing focusing on defence. but Saints donโ€™t have the depth or talent to make the 8 this year. theyโ€™ll drop off like last year

After our debacle yesterday watching saints and filth play actually gives me hope. What an appalling game. At least the saints have some injuries as an excuse.

They said that about us in 2021. They are fit and they are hungry. Structurally they are excellent.

They'll make the eight easily.

do they have a Trac, Clarry, Gawn, May, etc? i reckon they are getting through on energy and pressure. us in 2021 were pokes apart imo

they were 8-3 last year and missed finalsย

well done Hoges

Yes he effectively killed the clock with that last pack mark at high half-forward (Hawks side of the ground)

I got the distinct impression that he didn't want the finger pointed at himself for missing those 2 easy shots

Willed himself at the contest and iced the game.ย  It certainly was well done

Could this be a Grand Final preview?

No thank you.

I hope we play the GF and I'd prefer we take care of business in the PF and smash the Pies.

I knew this question would tick people off!

  • AFLW REPORT: Gold Coast

The forecast said wind. The ladder said mismatch. The scoreboard said obliteration. Melbourne didnโ€™t just beat Gold Coast โ€” they dismantled them: 13.15 (93) to 0.6 (6). An 87-point obliteration, the Suns held goalless, and the Demons delivering their second-highest winning margin and third-highest score in AFLW history.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #28 Will Verrall

It was a tough ask for him to break through as a 199cm ruckman in the shadow of an all-time great in that position who is also the club captain. He had some good days at Casey but was unable to progress and was delisted at the end of the season.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #29 Tom Campbell

The 33-year-old Campbell has yet to play AFL football for Melbourne, but his Casey form has been strong and he has been retained as a ready-made ruck depth option who is widely regarded as someone who is excellent for the culture of the club.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #30 Harry Sharpย

The Demons acquired an interesting player in Sharp, who narrowly missed securing a spot in the Lionsโ€™ premiership team last year. The 22-year-old medium forward played in the opening round this season and ended up with 18 senior games, although he was substituted in or out in for ten of those matches. He demonstrated glimpses of form, but ultimately ended the year on the margins of the team.

Worked his way back after a slow start and a further slump in form going into the midseason but became a solid contributor for the club in the latter half of 2025. Closing in on 300 goals for the club.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Gold Coast

On Friday, the Demons return to our Casey Fields fortress where they have a 77% win rate. The scent of September is in the air and the struggling Suns are on the horizon. The Cranbourne weather forecast? Ominous, like the match itself: a strong chance of carnage. Letโ€™s be honest, last weekโ€™s first half against the West Coast was a training drill but we dropped our guard in the final quarter. While this match is a mismatch on paper โ€” second versus seventeenth โ€” football is won in the wind, the contests, and the moments.
