yes, but it also doesn't define the "goal line" in any detail (padding or otherwise)

Brayshaw, not sure what is going on there, seems to be either not happy he's playing H/B or confidence is down seems to be second guessing what he wants to do with the ball.

McVee, getting better and better, Salam might spend some time at Casey if he keeps improving ( adds that Hunt speed ).

Tmac, not much competition against him and the ground suited him, still backup for me.

Chandler, well here is a surprise on how he has come on, makes good decisions always thinking of the next move, good goal sense.

Kossie, I am one who believes his best position is in the Forward line, not sure he can handle the heat in the middle on a regular basis. 

JVR love the fact that he crashes the packs hard chases at full pace, but needs work on his marking, he need to keep his hands forward not bent backwards in trying to mark it causes to lack of strength in the hands, but still like him there.

Petty, bit at sea but the way they brought the ball in no wonder, when all your forwards fly at once you don't have much hope, the forward line still needs a lot of work, cannot fathom why when the ball is around the H/F line everyone stands still move for heavens sake open it up, learn to make holes, take your opponent out of the area.  Is it worth persevering only if they change the set up.

Grundy, played against well not their best, but the best part of it for me, he got great game time and fitness time will only get better.

If Hibbo is injured, and after watching Casey Disco would have to come in and would be a good replacement.

One thing I was happy about there was several times that 2-3 players held back on the backline so when the eagles the ball chipped around in the backline, players were there, not to give them a chance to move it on quickly.

I would love to see a change in set up in the forward line, instead of all lining up like ducks in a row take the H/F's further out, same with pockets creates a hole, can give you multiple aiming points, radical I know but we don't have a real power marking forwards.

The second half the Eagles stated to run out of steam and class but like some of there young ones.

 

We are the highest scoring team in the comp by a mile averaging 114.25 points per game. I think the forward line might be operating a little better than you think.

I hate it when opposition fans all boo when a player is having a set shot for goal. WCE are the worst, but all other supporters do it, including Melbourne( but not so badly)

But yesterday it had the reverse effect when JVR was having a set shot! The booing was like the “Roooooo” chant that Dees supporters use! Probably inspired him!

We are getting our inside 50's efficient, and great how we lock it in there.

Forwards are working up field and supporting the backs.

We are good at winning the crucial moments.

Great pressure, defence and tackling.

The core players know each other's game, allows them to connect, have confidence, play to strengths and to get out of trouble.

Our set shots are more accurate, thanks coaches.

We are breaking the lines with our running, hanballs, supportive play, and the 20/30 meter handballs.

Seems we are playing in front and getting to the ball first.

JVR's fitness looks fine.

Tmac getting to the right area without BBB there, creating one on one's with less pack formations and more space.

Hope they keep giving Petty some time up forward.

Loving our second halves, no fade outs or complacency so far.

We seem super fit, well done trainers.

Getting plenty of junk time/time on goals.

Oliver running end to end, super fit.

Unlike Collingwood, who say they are still building, we are there and can now focus on the finer aspects of the game.

Max in the coaches box with a pen, getting plenty of learnings, which can help his on field leadership qualities.

Yep Viney is. Comes from a family that is the fabric of AFL. All his life he must have eaten, slept and dreamed footy. He is the one that knows when the game is on the line, and I have seen him get us over the line and turn the momentum, from a very early age.

And i cant recall if he said it in a different context, or in relation to hibbo, but i thought it was interesting Goody made a point of emphasising the dees have a 'squad mentalilty'.

I have heard pert talk about the thorough (standard) review of last season. A commitment to continuous quality improvement is sign of of a well functioning organisation.

The have made a number of changes on the back of the review  - and taking a squad mentality seems to be one of them.

I like it because in helps address the challenge of having so many players on the bubble of senior selection. Last season the team changed so little it would have super hard psychologically on players like Tomo, Bedford and Chandler. 

And hard too for any player, like Hunt in 2021, that is in the ones only to get injured or suspended and lose their spot. And not get it back.

A squad mentality should help all such players feel they are a reasonable shot at playing ones.

So, for example, take no risk with Hibbo and a player like Laurie, Dunstan, Tomo or even Howes comes into the frame for selection (not all like for like - but they can shuffle positions if needed to get say a Lauire in).

Or perhaps more likjley, JJ comes into the 22 and Melk is sub.

Having said that I think it was a point.

A few years ago, I was in a group which was shown around the facilities at Docklands where they do this. They had screens everywhere, as expected, and if I recall correctly, there were AFL officials (not umpires, but possibly retired ones) who did the judgement.
