It's Game Day and the Demons are looking to solidify their place in the Top 4 with the added opportunity of boosting their percentage against an injury-riddled team. They are returning to Optus Stadium, the site of their drought breaking premiership and a ground where they hold the best winning rate in the entire league. GameDayRd042023.png

GameDay already! This weekend has absolutely flown. Except it hasn’t. It’s dragged its sad arze at snail pace.

Us by lots n lots.
❤️💙

Given the history between the Eagles and Demons, the overall head to head is hardly flattering at 37-19. Given our aspirations for the season, relative ladder positions and their outs, expect it’s time for some justifiable correction of the record. Not suggesting a reprise of last year’s visit. No surprises, they’re not the Easter Bunnies. Go in with a winning mentality. Demons to take the Easter chocolates.

Hillier’s please!

It looks like being a ****ty day in Melbourne.

So ..... how better to spend it than watching a pulverising Dees performance while drinking decent booze in The Manor's sumptuous theatre ?

Wonder how many of those wins have been in Perth? Quite a lot I suspect with their crazy crowd and constant booing. I never boo opposition kicks on goal. I used to let my 6 year old daughter and her friend yell chewy onya boot....but it's hardly same amplitude and effect. Im sure Im not alone with Mfc supporters being too classy for that sort of grubbery if thats a word.

I digress. I'm sure our record there has improved since Tmac kicked that winning over his head scissor miracle goal and the lightening interrupted game. Let's not mention the prelim final and granny there where we dismantled both the cats and dogs  in 21.

So it doesn't seem such a big voo doo anymore. We are back in form after demolishing last years runners up. We have Max out but Grundy is doing very well. We have kossie back who is a complete wild card for oppo teams to nullify. We have others banging down the door for selection.  We have Goody growing in confidence and becoming the new coaching chess master. We have Jvr who will kick 4 today. I just hope Tmac plays even better than he did in Casey. If Jv hits his straps and plays his best than the sports bets odds seem justified. I feel confident enough not to even have an insurance bet. (OK don't can me for oppo bets but as you know, mfcss has deep roots but I'm starting to shake it).

Today ticks off our 2nd on the road game in four weeks and and to score the Easter chocolates will be so sweet.

Weagles have key players out so there can be no excuse for not binge eating the sweets when the final siren sounds.

I don't want a close one. My Dr and Dees fan has advised me these are not good for my blood pressure. I want a comprehensive demolition leaving those putrid west toast players and  fans cooked. Roasted and stewed to a perfection. Psychologically scarred for the next 3 outings against us.

Not that I have any animosity towards them.

DEAR MR BUNNY DEES  by 57 PLEASE.

I've been good. Most of the time.

You left out watching Casey on the manor computer before the main event.

Time to open the spindle on the Shiraz de Wine Cask 2023 to enjoy while watching the 2 games.

Maybe even defrost the party pies and make a real celebration of the day.

The quintessential gastronomic connoisseurs. Enjoy.

I guess after a few 23 cask Shiraz vegie toast seems gourmet.

Better tha an 11 dollar glass of watered down beer for the afl coffers at the ground.

I envy the Cordon Bleu taste and preparation skills of Uncle Bitter.

He is the unchallenged MasterChef of Romsey.

How much is it. My swans mate told me last week it was 10.50 for 375ml . What's the current rate then ?I live in Wollongong so only get to a game once every 2 years.

Tx Kent I'd like to know. Enjoy the game.

T Mac and Sparrow better have great games to justify inclusion

JJ was in the top 6 last week and Sparrow in the bottom 6

I'm not convinced TMac is fit enough at the moment and may be terminally injured

BBB is terminally injured with his knee but the team manager it well. Presume they are doing the same if this is the case with TMac.

Was their game that far different from an impact point of view.

Someone took their main playmaker, Warner, out of the game.  It was hard to see who that was at the ground.  Can't help but think it was Sparrow's job to run with him.  If so he made a big contribution to our win.

Did anyone see who was on Warner for most of the game if not Sparrow?

If computer is connected to the tv the Casey game will also be on the big screen.

Jayden must be really hurting inside to be playing against the dees.  Really feel for him, especially being my =#1 fave player since he started❤️.  Hope he has a good game, not good enough to be BOG but enough to make him happy.

Would love to see a ruthless performance with a 100 Point shellacking of those Eagles!

Help set up our percentage for the season

I hope they give him friendly hugs after the game (and after we've cemented a great percentage)

The Manor's computer seems to have a mind of its own Red.

It automatically opens to ..... err "contact sports"... of a somewhat different nature.

Of course, a win is mandatory, but this is a perfect opportunity for us to win big, and bank some valuable percentage.  I’ll be disappointed with anything less than an 8 goal win, but I’m expecting Easter joy!

Are we being over confident again like lions game?

Yes, W first but hopefully with a percentage boosting win!

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
