Just got to be steadier with the handballs

Tactical sub, should be alright

Thanks god for the umpire there, Grundy was standing the mark almost two metres back and the umpire showed him he could come up closer which ultimately is why the Sydney players’ last kick fell short.

Yeah I think it was just to go with a smaller forward line.

They need to get the ball to ground in the forward line and not let the Mcartins mark

I have covid and watching from home unfortunately..... so have to listen to BT and also scare everyone in my house

Go boys, we have repsonded against a really good side.

How much better is Grundy rucking today, difference mindset knowing you're going in as the no 1. ruck for the game.

Yep and I reckon Maxy has probably helped him out a bit this week & probably gave him the belief.

My husband watching at home said it’s apparently a tactical sub? He seems ok. I assume his knee is a bit sore.

Rivers is having a great game

He has a back injury. Apparently couldn't even bend down to touch his toes

Unbelievable play by Clarry in that quarter with that handball smother. Best player we have ever had.

Grundy really lifted that quarter.

Great finishing by Fritta.

Langdon really needs to goal from 20 out.

Loving McVee. Looks a natural.

This one is far from over, Swans are getting their looks wheb they transition from the back. Need to keep our composure and hit the targets when it counts.

Grundy has been very impressive. Working his [censored] off.

The game was over the moment we got out to a 30 point lead.

Happens all the time.

8.3 to 8.6 since quarter time - sounds disastrous!

Did someone say drop from the Fritta?

Yeah he was a bit weak earlier, but how classy is he.

Look, I’m not saying that it was me… but yeah I made a bad call. 😂

Or maybe I inspired him… 🤔

But seriously, his chasing or following opponent up the ground to keep pressure was poor when I wrote that.

what a great Quarter! such intensity

4.1 up. what could go wrong from here?

Bbb ...I'm not sure if he's injured.

Was getting beaten pretty soundly in most 1 v 1s but could be an niggle or injury.  Anyone hear anything?

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.
