Gawn - a huge loss

Viney - obviously played underdone

Brayshaw - disposals were amateurish

Oliver - many irrelevant possessions

Petracca - involved too late

Rivers - loose but tried

Bowey - not the worst

Lever - played with passion

Harmes - not to standard

Langdon - had little input

Neal-Bullen - was rarely noticed

McDonald -  had no influence

Fritsch - was obviously underdone

Spargo - was easily outpointed

Grundy - tried but ineffective

Hunter - had little influence

Sparrow - a nothing game

Chandler - took his chances

McVee - regularly looked lost

Melksham - probably on field

Brown - our only forward

Certainly worked his way into the game as the solo ruck and credit to him. Needs to build some synergy with Trac and Clarry if we’re to win the centre clearances going forward.

He’s going to earn his money this year if Gawn’s out for weeks, but he’d love having the number 1 mantle to himself.

Shrewd recruiting by us. Imagine how we'd be without Grundy now that Max is out

@joeboy  Hunter - had little influence

I have to disagree. Hunter played very well in my opinion. I was at the game.  He was creative and smart with very few errors. Probably one of our best 3-4 players. 22 possessions.  15 kicks. 480 metres gained. Kicked a good goal.  Hit targets.  He was prominent and had influence.

    GAMEDAY: Rd 12 vs Carlton

The Blues season is on the line and their captain and coach have been in the firing line all week. If the Dees cough this one up the media's crosshairs will do a 180 and will surely be directed at the Demons who have only won 13 games from their last 25 outings. This is a must win game for the Melbourne Football Club too.

DOCTORS AND LAWYERS by The Oracle

We’ve seen it all before.   Club in turmoil. Coach under pressure. Club President caught up in a tax scandal. Club board not seeing eye to eye with one board member resigning amid questions about whether he was pushed or did he jump? Unrest bordering on hysteria among the supporters. Team dropping from undefeated after four rounds to 13th after ten. Allegations of favoured treatment of players. Players out of form, forwards with the kicking yips, a bruising injury list with some facing

WRITING ON THE WALL by Whispering Jack

The Narrm Football Club found a second way in the space of 12 months less a day to unexpectedly lose a home game against Walyalup on Saturday afternoon. The equivalent match of last year has been described as Melbourne’s “ground zero” of 2022 where things went wrong for the club after a long run of wins that included its 57 year drought-breaking premiership triumph. Unfortunately for the Demons, the 2023 version was a case of deja vu with the Dockers overcoming a half time deficit and runn

    CRUSHED by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons were dealt a crushing blow to their hopes of repeating last year’s premiership glory when they capitulated to the Werribee Tigers in the final term of what was for the first three quarters a riveting game of football. The Demons struck early with the opening two goals of the match but the Tigers fought back to level the scores by mid-term. From there on until the middle of the last quarter, there was never more than two goals separating the teams although the home side look
