Tomlinson must be  feeling stiff. Not even picked as a sub.

The Lions defence looks ordinary with that [censored] captain floating around the chb line.

Petty better get ready for his snipes when he comes up the ground.

They'll definitely be coming for Petty and try and put him off his game.

He's picked as one of the four emergencies from where the sub gets selected. So he's still a chance to be the sub.

If May plays and Tomlinson is selected as the sub, be prepared for 4 million posts on Demonland wailing that it's proof that May isn't 100%, shouldn't be playing and everyone from the coaching team to the medicos should be sacked.

Any team with Daniher in it is a joke.  Dumbest footballer I have ever seen.

cover Rich from delivering from HB and they are cooked.

48 point victory to the Dees

Yep, expect plenty of attention put into Rich. Might even be a job for Melk at some point.

It'll basically be a training run for us. We'll just be using it to run Viney, May and Fritsch back into some form. Viney will likely steamroll someone very early on and after that  they'll set up as witches hats. We'll be on top after tonight and that's basically the season done. Just hand us the Cup!

Fagan likes Rich and Zorko to set up their attacks off half back. Shut down that and they got nothing.

That is true, and can be countered with our mobile backs teaming - as there really are only two Lions concerned on most occasions, and they will cross-feed one another to get to that offensive launching. These are critical seconds in a flowing match that we should be able to intercept/disrupt/use as our own springboard. Given our current aerobic fitness, far superior to that of Brizzy it seems, we may well run 'em off their feet by the end of the third quarter!

Yea feel for Tommo. He's done it tough with some serious injuries. Plays a great game then gets dropped. Double edged sword playing for a club with so much talent. I wouldn't have minded him being subbed into the fwd line with a couple of last quarter goals. Thought it might have been the smart play given concern over Maysie and Tmac but I'm wise enough now to finally  accept the club's call.

I feel for Thommo too- we have lost handy players in the past due to lack of opportunities or lack of reward for effort and contribution.- I just hope he gets other chances and feels part of the team and not just a fill in.

I wonder about the responses and possible criticisms. May knows what he is doing, I'd say. Tomlinson, in my mind this week, was bloody good last week - almost a complete turnaround in many ways and for that cumulative effort over the pre-season, demands respect.

Interestingly, stats insider’s super confusing predictive model has this game at 50/50. Something must have happened in the last few days because last time I looked they had Brisbane as 52% likely to win and us 48%. I’m guessing what happened was our ins. If that is so May, Viney and Fritsch should feel pretty insulted that their inclusion only raises our chance to win by 2%.

Someone please get the graphic skills out with a Demon pitchforking both these animals.

I'd try but not in the mood..

Here you go

Bringing in Fort really highlights the great challenge other teams are going to have with "Gawndy" you think you need another actual ruckman to compete with these blokes so you bring in a tall lumbering guy who's almost certainly going to lose anyway because that feels like a better option that using someone like Hipwood who would definitely be exposed both in the ruck and around the ground.

I reckon Grundy will spend more time in the ruck this week and Gawn more time forward. i think Brisbanes backline will struggle to contain Gawn, and Grundys mobility will really challenge Oscar and Fort. i suspect we will tag Neale and Berry will Tag oliver and Petracca will take home the 3 votes

Brisbane have been and seemingly always will be a team that can't beat good teams on system, and instead relies on acts of brilliance from their big name players.

There seems to be a sniff of prejudice emerging about the Demons this year...stuff 'em.

Ten goal victory. 🔴🔵🔥💪

I'll support that! It might be over-ambitious, but it is feasible....hell, let's make it a 12-goal annihilation!

I tried one of the AI image makers but it completely missed the mark! Had to resort to photoshop

I am loving the arrogance in this thread. Hope it pays off.

I wonder if the Lions supporters are lurking around going “can’t wait to beat these arrogant so and so” 😂

Kozzie has gone to Rich in the past to shutdown his play on from a behind to get the ball to centre wing. Without Kozzie I wonder how we approach this tonight, probably Chandler playing that role?

I'll be keeping you in the rolodex DemonWheels!

I reckon Brisbane are way too tall now..

Coleman is a massive out for them. He and Rich running and delivering off half-back are a handful. Speedy ball movement caused us defensive problems last year so less bounce off opposition half-back is good for us!

On the flip side we seem to have been training fast ball movement ourselves over the pre-season, so can do just as much damage in attack. Long may it continue!

Gees DS not much use watching this game after a top summary like that. I'll do it quarter by quarter, and see what happens..

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
