Luke Dunstan was under utilized at senior level last season IMO. Given the limited opportunities he was offered, he delivered determined consistent, honest blue collar performances. He is not afraid to get his head over the ball and plays for the team.

Given the ferocity of contest around the ball, his skills aren’t as shabby as some here would think. Get him in the engine room.

Andy Moniz-Wakefield could be anything!🤞

Not gripping, but rushing blokes back based on reputations has fallen through the floorboards again. Team performance would be better served if match ready guys had been fully rehabilitated through Casey.

Lovely stuff thanks Tarax

This club still has some learnings ahead, especially with the utilisation of Casey as a lead in to the big league for the big boys coming in cold.  Viney a great example last night.  Could not have been more under-done or out of form.

Dunstan for Harmes depending on how he goes today.

Schache (boy thats a spelling doozy)  for Max if he performs?

JVR should be straight in for Melk on any reasonable result.

The missus is in a bad mood so I will go down and have a look, Hope 4 a better result than last night.

A match preview here.

Nice jack ty.  We've got some interesting additional talls this season but have lost two handy smalls (in affect) in Chandler & Bedford.

Hopefully Moniz can start to ramp things up and there's also Bill.  Add to that some of the Casey boys in Grey, Munro, Steele in the small/medium mix.  Probably one or two others that i've overlooked

Maybe a good old fishing trip romp with the boys afterwards Dl4?

Consider yourself lucky it's only after a loss.  My lil storm cloud goes there a few times a day whether we play or not (win, lose or draw!) ....

Is this game being broadcast anywhere?

AFL app & afl.com.au

Casey’s midfield seems to lack pace. Dunstan Jordon Munro

miss Baker and Bedford from 2022

Woey jnr also missing this week as good link runner

Dogs Mids seemed quicker in practice match

certainly drafting 2-3 quick Mids is on my list for 2023 draft

Schache already with strong contested mark and shot on goal but pushes it right.

Like this bit

Jeez Seston has had a purple patch. Took a strong contested mark and just missed only to then intercept the kick in and hit Laurie up.

Big lad.

James Jordon impressive in the midfield so far. So clean.

Trent Burgoyne, Max Gregory and Miles Shepherd come into the side to replace Melksham and Tomlinson (to AFL).

The Casey Demons are doing all the attacking and are sitting on 1.3.9 to 0.0.0 after George Grey kicks the first goal of the game.

Bill Laurie a heap of it early on. Looks to be playing with intent.

Commentator nearly climaxed when the Dogs kicked a goal

I thought the same. Pass him the tissues.

"No hairdressers working at the moment in Footscray."

"Not well, anyway."

Did you miss out dl4?

Dominated everything except the scoreboard and hit outs

Not much from JVR.. a glimpse from Schache but no more.

Joel Smith did a little

Conditions look perfect.. looking forward to the remaining three quarters

Messy start seemingly in to the breeze. Most chances were long distance shots that are low percentage.

Jeffo missed the easiest one when he played on with a rush of blood.

So far in terms of key position watch if you combined;

Schache’s height
JVRs physicality
Jefferson’s anticipation
Smith’s athleticism

You’d have a gun key forward. They’ve all got involved and Schache maybe the most chances at goal but no one standing out.

JJ the best of the mids.

Very solid defensive performance across the board but not a lot of standouts from down back

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
