nsw demons are putting together a function for the r24 clash with the swans

once more is known i'm sure it'll be communicated here to the relevant parties

Can't believe I never thought to search for a NSW based Dees fan group! 😱 Thanks for this, WWSW!  Now looking into joining

For @Bitter but optimistic@Demon_spurs@DeelightfulPlay..

before you head off, make sure you have a ticket to the game.

Traegar Park only holds 7,200 and the locals turn up in droves.....

I set myself up for this match just before the great lockdown of 2021. Had the airfares booked and a lovely airbnb just on the outskirts.

In order to guarantee a ticket I bought an MFC entertainment package. Meal and ticket if I recall for $100.

In the scheme of things it was cheap compared to the other costs. Got the money back from the club at the end of 2021 without asking. Still sitting on useless airline credits though. I even have one from Thessaloniki to Bologna from April 2020 which I'll also never use

George, is there anyway of guaranteeing a ticket. Will the club help (i.e. entertainment packages as mentioned in another post)

Perhaps @WalkingCivilWarcan help here?

The Demon Army usually has an allocation, and not all may be able to get there, so they may be able to help.  Probably good form to sign up with them, if they do.

When tickets go on sale you can purchase them through the NT ticketing system. GA standing only. No seats.

The DA do get an allocation for all interstate matches (as well as Geelong matches) and the number of available tickets varies from match to match. The Alice game is attended by more DA members than one would think. By all means sign up, but that doesn’t guarantee a ticket to any match.

On the far right of the MFC web page you will see a tab for hospitality. At present there's no mention of the Alice game. I suggest you email the club and register your interest. The packages people are very responsive in my experience

There will be a couple of demons in bay 320, flying up 6am to work from Brisbane.

Thank heavens for work from home, allowing me to go to all Friday Night interstate trips this year. Hoping to tick off 21/23 games if I'm lucky.

Wow, it'd be awesome to attend that many games!

I'll also be working in Brisbane, the flexibility makes such a difference.

I'm in section 213 with the cheer squad.  Go dees!

Don’t be a stranger, DP!!!!

You can’t miss me… just look for the flogger in the front row who’s horribly out of time with the other floggers and who appears to be in pain. (Those floggers are heavier and more unwieldy than they look.) The others do it every week. I only do it at interstate/Geelong matches therefore I’ve yet to develop my flogger-craft. 😁 I’m convinced they only ever put me on floggers for amusement value.

I'm likely to be one of the only strangers there, given I'm a new DA member!  But being a stranger means I'm just a friend you haven't formally met yet 😁

I'll swing by the floggers (a term I learnt from the FAQ page on the DA website just last week) and say hi!  And maybe try to stifle a laugh at any flogger craft (not that I could do any better)

Hope you make it to the Sydney game, dworship!

I'm planning on roping in most of my workmates to come to the game, since they've listened to me prance and rant about the Dees endlessly since I moved to Syd.  Time to convert them!

While we're talking about that; does anyone know if there is a Dees supporter group in Sydney. The Qld supporter group is renowned for organizing pre and some times post game gatherings. Often with Board members, past players and the CEO in attendance. The last game I went to in Adelaide the Army also had a watering hole organised pre game.

There's NSW Demons!  I only just found out about them from @whatwhat say what, so can't say what their events / pre-game rituals are like.  Hopefully something nice!

makes it difficult for a night game for me, but i will look into it

@Sir Why You Little on Saturday night I went with my parents who have some mobility issues. We got an Uber from Wellington Parade after the game across from the 7/11. There’s a ramp up over the station so it’s accessible the whole way.

  • NON-MFC: Round 12

Round 12 kicks off with the Brisbane hosting Essendon at the Gabba as the Lions aim to solidify their top-two position against an injury-hit Bombers side seeking to maintain momentum after a win over Richmond. On Friday night it's a blockbuster at the G as the Magpies look to extend their top of the table winning streak while the Hawks strive to bounce back from a couple of recent defeats and stay in contention for the Top 4. On Saturday the Suns, buoyed by 3 wins on the trot, face the Dockers in a clash crucial for both teams' aspirations this season. The Suns want to solidify their Top 4 standing whilst the Dockers will be desperate to break into the 8.

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The media has performed a complete reversal in its coverage of the Melbourne Football Club over the past month and a half. Having endured intense criticism from all quarters in the press, which continually identified new avenues for scrutiny of every aspect, both on and off the field, and prematurely speculated about the departures of coaches, players, officials, and various employees from a club that lost its first five matches and appeared out of finals contention, the narrative has suddenly shifted to one of unbridled optimism.  The Demons have won five of their last six matches, positioning themselves just one game (and a considerable amount of percentage) outside the top eight at the halfway mark of the season. They still trail the primary contenders and remain far from assured of a finals berth.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

  • POSTGAME: Sydney

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.
