carlton look set to have 10 night games?!??

About time for an investigation into the AFL fixturing department to see what clubs they support and find any evidence of brown paper bags or "gifts" received from long lost relatives

That explains a lot (sorry OD couldn't resist).

It's not the only thing I read ds. And yes it explains a lot.

If true look at the upside which goes something like this.

Each new season at least 2 new teams finish in the 8. Logic says one in 2023 will be the Blues.

BUT, if they fail, it will be there to see in all its glory and the anti-Voss chatter commencing in the public glare.

I'd like to see that!

I like the idea but they'd have their behinds covered most likely. Only brown paper bags you'd find would be their lunch.

I just wish theyd release the entire thing instead of 15 rounds and 9 floating. [censored]

I thought they were binning the floating fixture?

How do you make money from such a stupid idea?

They make money by having an extra round in the season, be it magic or stupid (I vote stupid) while 86-ing a pre-season practice match. Practice matches don’t make any money.

Seems they’re weaning us off it. Currently the plan is to go back to the old way of announcing the entire fixture at once for season 2024 but let’s not hold our collective breath.

Oh of course. Just being silly, plus I had this in my head for some reason https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dw31Ch9ucsE. This time of year is even less of an articulate time for Layzie on DL.

But yeah, they will make plenty of money.

FFS, might as well release the rounds every Thursday night along with team selection.

Layzie is never inarticulate! Nor silly. Especially when he has anything SpongeBob related in his head. For SpongeBob holds all of life’s secrets. 😊

BTW, why are we referring to you in the third person??? 🤔

Great that we go there but it is a shame it won't be during Indigenous Round.

GWS. A nice change to not be playing a team from WA or SA that usually has a strong following in NT.  Will give us an opportunity to embed our identity and the Demon Spirit as the  AFL team to support.

So we know 4 of the first 16 rounds.

Round 1 - Bulldogs, Saturday night, MCG (Home game)

April 24 - Richmond, Monday night, MCG (Home game)

June 12 - Collingwood, Monday afternoon, MCG (Home game)

Round 16 - GWS, Time TBA, Alice  (Home game)

On that basis we may be doing a bit of travelling in the second half of the season again.☹️ as there will be at least another 5 interstate games to fit in.

Hopefully, those last three games don't compromise getting a decent break between games or a full bye round break.

Something is holding up the 'Gather' Round 6 fixture which was scheduled for release on Tuesday.  I wonder if is clubs squabbling over whose Home game it will be?  And whether it is compensated somewhere else?  Or stuff like that.

I wouldn't mind playing one of the WA teams that round in SA.  One less long haul trip.  At least two Eastern states will get that advantage so hope it is us.

Yes, but you can bet it wont be us. The big players will be lobbying for that.

I'm hoping we play our away game against the Cats there. We will probably play our Home game against Freo or the Lions.

Not sure about the travel in the second half of the season, as the Rounds are 1, 6, 13 and 16. My guess is we will play Freo at Optus in Round 2.

I didn't mean all the i/state games will be in the 2nd half.

Usually we get the bye after the KB game round 13.  Three or Four 1/state games in the last 9/10 rounds plus Alice could give us a nasty schedule again.

Geez I wonder if we will have a run of MCG games in the first half of the year and then have a tough run towards the end of the year?

not complaining as such, its just bizarre how our fixture always has the same feel
