An athletic 199cm ruckman from South Australia with room to grow who had some injury concerns in 2021/2 ~Β Will Verrall

β€œβ€¦Β his best, Will Verrall is as good as (Harry) Barnett. So (AFL) clubs are doing some work on Will Verrall now based on what he did as a 17-year-old, knowing it was at a really high level.” - Tony Bamford SA Under 18 State Coach.

Poor man’s Jack Fitzpatrick. With development resources tied up in Jefferson, Adams and Big Kyah I’m a little surprised we went for a rookie teen ruck after years of not making it a priority.Β

His hands look pretty good overhead.

Can't remember but was Fitzy a one or two grabber???

3 grabs, a tunnel ball and a chronic illness per marking contestΒ

So to be fair, Verrall is an upgrade.

Unfortunatly Jack Fitzpatrick had health issues and never reached his potential due to the fact he was a diabetic which meant he always had to watch his diet and insulin levels.

In 2021 Aaron Bradtke was the project ruckman.

Will Verrell looks further advanced at this stage.

ah yes professional institution of 163 years cannot concurrently develop 4 players amongst a squad of 40, doh! why didnt the recruiters think of this first!! what a waste!

I count 6 different hairstyles across that gamut of videosΒ

This alone is very impressive

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
