I generally don't follow social media so am not sure of the rumours you are alluding to.  I am giving my opinion that Oliver is unwell and the club as his employer is not allowed to disclose health information that is beyond that deemed reasonable or consented to by Oliver himself.  We shouldn't expect to be given every inch of detail.  Agree though that lack of info swirls the rumour mill.  It is a balancing act.

I don't expect any info from the club.

Let's be clear your posts about Oliver are opinions and not based on any knowledge.

Its best to say that from the beginning.

Incredibly poor look? Its now becoming a major issue.!! Club will be going into damage control soon if this isn't clarrified.

It’s not a poor look at all. I’ll bet my old jeans Oliver wants to keep training and play and he’s being told he can’t. Surely 2 professionals can have a heated discussion or do we now live in a world where raising your voice is no go.

I am giving my opinion.  The 2023 session is turning into a train wreck.  I much preferred the 2021 session, lock downs and all!

Firstly that discussion should be had behind closed doors

Secondly, it takes nothing away from the fact that he’s missed two months of football with a reported regulation hamstring.

Has there been any offical word on Oliver yet and what the hell is about.

How does a journo get into a closed training session and film this stuff...

He is just frustrated. He wants to play but his body is holding him back. He knows the club is under huge pressure and he wants to help. Selwyn is just trying to keep him calm.

I don’t know why anyone else can’t see that. He is only human.

Nah.

This is a poor look. If Selwyn has ordered him to either take it easy or made the call to give it another week then Oliver needs to respect those above him and pull his head in.

If Selwyn is making a decision purely for the best of Oliver's health then so be it.

They were allowed in to film the warm up.

These idiotic cryptic injury reports leave a lot to be desired when your best player is in question and your top 4 spot is on the line!

No they dont. Please feel free to tell us your medical history

media allowed in for warm up to get some shots and then asked to leave after that

Was it a closed training session?

He’s playing to win Premiership’s, he knows the team is better placed with him in it. He’s frustrated and 2 adults can surely have a solid discussion about the situation. Jeez, I have them with folks all the time.

Chill, they’re just re-enacting the Trac Cox saga.

Without knowing facts at all, a lot of people just want to go on their rants, lay the blame at whoever they can and  generally just make up garbage.

Oliver is simply relaying to the medical team all the constructive feedback he read on demonland about his injury management.  Well said mate!

The look of the dialogue between Clarry and Selwyn was not a good look.

I understand Oliver's side of frustration and seemingly "pushing" to keep at it. It is Selwyn with his hand out, the agitation and walking away and returning, that I have the problem with. He need's to remain calm and be seen to give feedback that is calculated and delivered in a way that brings the best out of Clarry.

As with all the MFC coaches and staff, "get the best out of the squad", should be the mantra.

Maybe Selwyn knows Clarry well, and that is the approach that is best for him. Just, doesn't look like it.

The goal posts have significantly shifted every week.

I don’t need a breakdown of his medical history, but he’s our most important player and the last time the club said nothing, morons on the internet said he was serving a drug ban.

I don’t want that circulating again. I’m sure he doesn’t either.

I’m no lip reader, but I can clearly make out Oliver saying “what more do you want me to do”

Given goody’s presser said he had one more session to tick off - I’m assuming the message that he hasn’t ticked off the final hurdle didn’t go down well with Clarry.

Im not expecting him to play this week based on that footage.

Fact Oliver seems to not understand is clearly an issue, if he feels right then he should be playing he’s an adult will know his body best

Morons will be morons regardless of what is or isn’t disclosed.

Personally, I’m happy (as well as amazed) that the Club manages to successfully keep things under wraps. Quite often family and friends aren’t given full details and oftentimes the player in question isn’t told everything. While this frustrates supporters the benefits of secrecy far outweigh anything else.

With respect, Clarrie is the last person who should have a say in it. If it was up to him he wouldn’t have missed a single game.

That would be my take on it too, from the vision above. Which, lets face it, is a far better outcome than if he had re-injured it.

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
