Ah yes, as Stuart Wagstaff once said "When only the best will do, and isn't that all the time"??

Sydney Stack helped you give up smoking? Sign him up!

Officially he’s not. But in every other way he is, or so it seemed. He and Goody are clearly really close friends, he [censored]-stirs Goody mercilessly. 😂 But yeah, he was involved in this particular training session as much as the other coaches.

Thanks for info. Much appreciated and I'm happy he still has some input into the culture of the place.

Can someone tell me how many list spots we have? I thought only 3 with the 2 draft picks and the chandler promotion. How would stack fit on the list

Now I don't have to hear Richmond supporters when they play us saying watch out viney Stack is nearby. I mean it was a great bump but I've seen better.

Did you deliberately pick JV because SS will remember his great tackle/ bump on Jack in the 2019 Anzac Eve game which put him out of business for a while.

Stack  May ask for Trac or Ollie or Hibbo on that basis TEIN, having seen Jack off already.

Picked deliberately, due to him never again taking the field against viney. Was dropped the next year for the game against us and hasn’t found himself in form warranting since.

If he’s quick, we could give him the lengthy nickname of Smoke Stack Lightening.

Really, typical of the pessimism on this site.

Meh, I’m not fazed at all if he leaves. I would’ve welcomed a trade with open arms this year if it could’ve been facilitated. If anything, that’s optimism.

I think he’s one of the most inconsistent and overrated players we’ve had in years.

@BLWNBARe Pickett….

Look, I know he’s played an interminable three years with us which only included one premiership, and having just recently turned 21, is getting on a bit in his years, but just try to be patient.

Don't understand tobacco users, if your going to smoke you should get something positive out of it

Yes, I’m incredibly aware of that, don’t worry.

God no.

It’d be totally in opposition to our culture, choosing talent over character and work ethic.

So is that pessimistically optimism or optimistically pessimistic if he left?

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
