Happy for Kossi to go actually. We'll have your F1 this year and next and throw Mitch Georgiades as the steak knifes.

Cornes doubling down on radio this morning. Calling yesterday's statement a lie. The only thing that's going to make this go away is Kozzie's signature unfortunately

How embarrassing for Cornes.

Calling a senior official of a club a liar is very insulting to Lamb and mfc.

my approach to Cornes is thus. Whatever he says, the opposite is more likely to be the truth.

Oh boy. Maybe the lawyers will get involved on this one.

Cornes is relentless on this.

Only way to shove it back in his face is to sign a contract extension.

Get Bartlett on the blower! 😜

It was the only way to begin with but even more so now. No amount of coming out and saying he's committed for next year will help, get a deal done.

Seriously though, this is a big pain in the [censored] for the club. Lamb came out with a firm statement to try and shut this noise down, Port's list management said not happening, yet Cornes keeps banging on about a rumour he started. A shame we're likely going to have to put up with this until Kozzie extends. Let's hope it's not another year of Jackson type distraction next season.

Next season is one where we really need everyone on the same page. Distractions and media circuses are not going to help, please get something done prior to the start of the season or preferably in time for Xmas.

Cornes loves sticking the boots into the MFC.  Probably can't handle the fact we snaffled Choco who then played a part in us winning a flag while they continue to flounder.

The other side to this is purely ratings based.  He's paid to stir the pot and would be very much encouraged to do so by Jabba the HUTchy.

Why would you care what Kane Cornes says about this?

Port have said it was stupid, then Lamb said it was stupid. There's obviously nothing there.

The SEN audience is less than 3% in Melbourne and doesn't exist elsewhere. The idea that we have to sign him up before Xmas to shut up Kane Cornes is laughable. Maybe some people just enjoy their beds being wet.

Well, yes and no. There is nothing there for now but it would be nice to not have to go through the whole circus again next year.

I'm starting to see your point of view a lot better.

The Tradio Radio guys seem to making stuff up as they go along.

If I had to guess, Kozzie will sign for two years or four years the latter being his FA year which is when most players sign up to.

Trade radio guys and other footballing journalists/commentators are doing nothing that can be regarded as 'reputable'. They are almost a blight on the daily horizon.

Tim Lamb's words about Kozzie are no different to what Goody was saying about Jackson this time last year.

Until Kozzie extends his contract, the scuttlebutt will always be around.

A re-signing of Kozzie right now would enable him to look forward to - and cement into place - and wonderful and reliable Demon career - and put to rest all this speculative bulltish that takes away from his attentions to prepare for the 2023 season.

I came to terms with Jackson leaving, but it would hurt much more to see Kozzy running around for a different club. I really hope we don't have to have another year of rumours and then a departure.

Praying to the football gods that we can get him signed up.

  • Thank You Simon Goodwin

As Demon fans, we’ve ridden a rollercoaster of emotions over the decades; the heartbreaks, the near misses, the wooden spoons, and the endless waiting. But through it all, we clung to hope. And then came Simon Goodwin. Before he ever wore red and blue, he was a champion in his own right. A five-time All-Australian, two-time Best and Fairest, and two-time premiership hero and Captain with Adelaide, Simon Goodwin was always destined to lead. When he transitioned from the field to the coach's box, first as an assistant at Essendon, he began shaping a new legacy.

  • PREVIEW: Western Bulldogs

Long ago and far away, the Melbourne Football Club replaced its coach in difficult circumstances after the team suffered a devastating loss. In the aftermath, I penned the following words: “Then came the politics, the intrigue, the axing, the sound of the football world laughing at a club, the circling of the media vultures, the reinvention of history, the anger, the irony, the pathos, the hurt on the face of the president, the dignified departure of the coach, and the determination of the newly appointed caretaker.” Today, we’re back in the same place although one difference here is that the coach who was terminated this time is Simon Goodwin, the man who four years ago

  • REPORT: West Coast

The Charles Dickens novel, A Tale of Two Cities, opens with, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, …”  This phrase highlights many of the significant challenges that humanity encounters in life, ranging from experiencing remarkable highs to living in times of despair. This is a concept that should resonate with all supporters of the Melbourne Football Club this morning as they reflect on its comprehensive 83-point victory over the struggling West Coast Eagles at Marvel Stadium. The outcome proved beyond doubt that they are the worst of clubs and that we are the best of the worst.
