Coffee is on.

Rehab has , Moniz-wakefield and Salem.

Light duties, Oliver and JJ.

TMac is training with main squad.

First drill, moving the ball from the backs in defensive 50 into the forwards to kick a goal. Full field was used, opponents with bibs but no tackles.

Now into line squads.

JJ is now training with the mids.

Semi competitive drills, in two squads.

Mids clear the ball from stoppage and the backs defend it.

Forwards play with the ball on the arc then pass it to a forwad

Into sims now.

Dogga and JJ both sitting out.

Just got my tickets, woh hoo.

Where is training? Gosch's?

Are the team training at Gosch's any other day/s this week?

So frustrating!

Club's 'Finals Hub' says to get out and support players at training.  So I emailed them and asked when and where training would be held.  This was the response:  Thank you for your email.  Further information will be posted on the finals hub once available. We cannot provide any details at this stage.  We look forward to seeing you cheer on the red and blue!'

The Finals Hub page says:  Information on Open Training sessions will be available in the coming days.

Why encourage us to go to training then not tell us where it is.

@kev martinThanks for going and I look forward to your reports.

In the past they had one open training a week.

The rest not advertised.

Today at Gosch's, the next is anyone's guess.

Correct Luci, the club must improve its level of communication to supporters/members.

How hard is it to post dates on the website?

Kicking goal practice, Stafford working with JVR.

Now they're having chats and presentations with the staff members.

I think it’s meant to be a closed session, which would be why it’s not advertised.

Did they switch the pill coming into the forward line to someone running free or was it just into pockets?

They were hitting up a leading player.

Gosch's is a public area, so is difficult to close.

They don't seem to mind spectators, they have been pleasant to me.

In the past when they wanted to do some "secret" plays they would ask us not to go in "that" area.

Media and camera crews were there as well.

My guess is they will use Casey or Port for closed training.

Today's run seemed to be about thanking the staff, as the coffee and food truck was out, and they had a meeting with them at the end of session

Yes that’s correct.

Obvious question, how is T Max moving?

So will we suddenly find this thread heavily redacted? 😵

Very good question.

Fingers crossed Tom McDonald will be fit and firing for a surprise inclusion in the Melbourne side soon! 🤞

They may give him a run at Casey first though.

Anyway, I hope they continue to practice their connection into the forward line. I still think that needs further improvement.

Lastly, I hope my all time favourite Melbourne Development Coach Mark "Choco" Williams was there imparting his wisdom to the Demons players.

If they have an open session at Casey next week I will try to go down and have a look if it falls on a work from home day.

But some advance notice would be nice, so let's hope they give us one.

Speaking from a basis of total ignorance… not sure how ‘closed’ the Port ground is, but to me it appears it would be very difficult to have a proper closed session at Casey. Lots of cyclone fencing around the ground. Very happy to be corrected / educated on this matter

GO DEES!!!

We need the MCG for closed training.

Back to our spiritual home occasionally for a run would be great for the club.

Goody was doing most of the talking.

Mathew Whelan was in the goal area where the umps stand, supervising, giving feedback and kicking the balls out for the entire session.

It used to be the support staff, so good to see they have an experienced person there.

Williams was freelancing, getting around to them all, checking, supporting and taps on the back. He is a beauty.

TMac, looked good a couple of times in sims, competing, getting his hands on it, baulking well and passing it.

Covering the ground well.

Has the same reliable kick at goal.

Probably needs some match fitness, but he looked happy and focused out there.

Looks like McDonald is a certainty to play VFL this weekend if he gets through Thursday's training.

My guess is they will have a practice run down at Casey on the weekend.

Hoping TMac gets a run before the serious stuff.

Though you never know, they may fast track him with some limited time in the VFL final.

  • PREVIEW: Geelong

"It's officially time for some alarm bells. I'm concerned about the lack of impact from their best players." This comment about one of the teams contesting this Friday night’s game came earlier in the week from a so-called expert radio commentator by the name of Kane Cornes. He wasn’t referring to the Melbourne Football Club but rather, this week’s home side, Geelong. The Cats are purring along with 1 win and 2 defeats and a percentage of 126.2 (courtesy of a big win at GMHBA Stadium in Round 1 vs Fremantle) which is one win more than Melbourne and double the percentage so I guess that, in the case of the Demons, its not just alarm bells, but distress signals. But don’t rely on me. Listen to Cornes who said this week about Melbourne:- “They can’t run. If you can’t run at speed and get out of the contest then you’re in trouble.

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit.
Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

For a brief period of time in the early afternoon of yesterday, the Casey Demons occupied top place on the Smithy’s VFL table. This was only made possible by virtue of the fact that the team was the only one in this crazy competition to have played twice and it’s 1½ wins gave it an unassailable lead on the other 20 teams, some of who had yet to play a game.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

In my all-time nightmare game, the team is so ill-disciplined that it concedes its first two goals with the courtesy of not one, but two, fifty metre penalties while opening its own scoring with four behinds in a row and losing a talented youngster with good decision-making skills and a lethal left foot kick, subbed off in the first quarter with what looks like a bad knee injury.

  • PREGAME: Geelong

After a one-year reprieve, the Demons return down the freeway to Kardinia Park — the site of both one of our greatest triumphs and one of our darkest days — as they face the Cats under Friday night lights. This one could get ugly. Who comes in, and who comes out?
