Hurry Up GIF

My life is on hold.... come on AFL!!!!!

I bet the delay is to be able to get Papley up for our game.

I reckon they’ve done a last minute swap with our game and the Cats V Pies,  hence the delay, to allow Papley out of protocols.

Our game from Thursday night to Friday night.

Just a theory.

Meanwhile the NRL are considering releasing their finals fixture even with two more home and away rounds left….just to get one up on the AFL

😅😂🤣

So we know we don't leave the G.

We know that we play Sydney first up.

You'd imagine we'll play Richmond if we lose, as I reckon Brisbane are cooked.

And if we win, you'd expect us to get Collingwood (although would love it to be Fremantle - would mean they've either knocked out Collingwood or Geelong!).

We should have a first week fixture by now. There were plenty of permutations for the match ups but they could have been worked through before the round finished, surely.

What makes you think this, l want to miss the Pies, with their incredible supporter base, amazing ability to never be out of the game & and their recent winning history against us

As per my post above.  I forgot to mention that despite their only way to stay in games is the risky transition from d50, which relies on great foot skills, they are ranked #18 for kicking efficiency.  Feel free to bump these posts if they win a final.

Evening L.H,

If I’m a Redleg member, when I purchase tickets on Tuesday am I sitting in the same area?

Thanks

Ditto. Exactly the same for me (I actually teared up a little!) It hurt big time.

I’m in the same boat as you Kev…remember the hawks game vividly….the swans game = recall zero

Last year was a good exorcism of the 1987 Hawthorn game and the curse.

Looking forward to this finals series as I get to attend.

Will never take a series or even a finals game for granted.

C'mon Goody, his team and our players, get us up for a go at Back to Back.

Exciting times for the MFC.

I have a meeting at 10:30 so I’ll be mighty [censored] if Ticketek goes down.

No.  We chose our seats on the Ticketek website when purchasing the tickets.

Hopefully, the system allows us to choose our seats rather than the computer 'allocate' seats and then have to try and change them on the website.

My tip is to check check all the info on Ticketek in advance of the tickets going on sale.  And have the membership barcodes which the club sends (hopefully tomorrow) ready.

Why is it taking so long has Carlton got an appeal in or something.

We would normally know by 6:30 Sunday night.

Will the MFC also send out the $5 raffle arrangements for Grand final tickets on the chance we get there?

Friday night for the Melb Vs Swans game.

Cats Pies get the twilight  game sat.

We’ve got Friday night ❤️💙

No matter what day or time we end up playing it is just so important that everyone that can,  actually turn up and support our boys.

They have fulfilled their end of the bargain, we must fulfil  ours.  We have over 60k members and plenty more supporters. No excuses.

We must outnumber the opposition and be bloody loud and ensure it is a very hostile environment for opposition supporters and players alike.

We’ll be there. Bells on. And scarves and beanies and everything.

We are on Friday… Papley??

Papley can’t play right? 12 days is Friday if you count from tomorrow. Or does the count start tonight?
Bloody well helps if he’s out.

Nope, he gets in as it’s the 12th day

Far out we got the best results possible this weekend bar the Collingwood win.

I just realised that, had Pies and Blues draw, they would have to play an elimination final against each other. What about that scenario?!

Parley will be good to go if he passes protocols (according to Syd supporters)

But it clashes with our women’ match. 🙄

I’m kind of glad we’re not playing Thursday. I would hate to lose on my birthday.

Probably because they are taking into account that Geelong get no real benefit of finishing first (no home final) so they are making it easier to get up and back the highway for their supporters

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
