July 5, 20223 yr The Herald Sun’s online page has a feature today highlighting the 2023 draft prospects. There are two players covered in the article of special interest to Demon fans so I thought we should kick things off early. The first is a father/son prospect who is the son of our Nathan Brown who played 146 games for the club between 1998 and 2007. A dogged small utility, Brown’s achievements included - Fourth Best and Fairest 2002 Most Consistent Player 2002 Second Best and Fairest 2004 Most Consistent Player 2004 Best Clubman 2005 Here’s the item about his son Kynan
July 5, 20223 yr Author The other player of interest to Demon fans is Riak Andrew who is a member of the club’s Next Generation Academy. He’s the brother of former Demon NGA Mac Andrew who is now with the Gold Coast Suns.

July 5, 20223 yr 4 minutes ago, whatwhat say what said: hopefully riak andrew is the dylan to mac's jack grimes Or the Robbie to the Tom (Flower) ... Or the Kylie to the Danni (Minogue) .... Or the Eddie to the Frank (McGuire) ... Been a long time, but check out http://tonywilson.com.au/[censored]-siblings
July 5, 20223 yr Harley Reid was by a distance the best talent in the Vic Country-Allies game. Ashton Moir is going to be something to follow - kicks set shots with both feet and a mercurial forward.
July 5, 20223 yr Author How could I forget this bloke who is the son of Dean Duursma who played for Melbourne’s under 19s and reserves in the late 1980s, brother of Port Adelaide’s Xavier and nephew of former Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne player Jamie Duursma?

I once shared a team on this forum consisting of dud brothers at Melbourne but it angered and upset so many posters that I had to ask Andy to delete the post.
July 5, 20223 yr Yes both Harley Reid and Zane Duursma were super impressive in the Vic Country v Allies under 18s match. They’d be drafted this year Vic eligible and probably be top 30-40.
July 5, 20223 yr Sounds like we will need a heap of picks for next year's draft? Edited July 5, 20223 yr by Jibroni
July 5, 20223 yr Is Brown not playing in the U16 Champs? Didn't hear him mentioned in any of the write ups.

July 6, 20223 yr Yes IB13 they looked impressive and certainly top 10 likely in 2023. Reid in particular will be very popular as he takes the game on as a midsize back with good skills & pace but looks very capable as a man on man defender. Edited July 6, 20223 yr by spirit of norm smith O
