But that was a taster of what we can expect in the last few games of the H&A and into the finals. No other team can go with us when we are playing like that, as the last 40 odd games we have played demonstrates. No doubt, the other teams know that too. It is why are odds for the flag never drifted out past $3.60, even after three straight losses.

It is also why we are now, after one win, back into $2.80 to win the flag. For context we were $2.70 at the start of the season,  and are almost at the same price now.

I admire your obsession with theories. 

We can see loading occurs. But any number of things can also contribute to a sides lack of energy which for whatever reason you keep leaving out whenever you analyse a game. 

You keep failing to mention that Brisbane have also had a big month of travel. And for our first quarter last night, where was our energy? Or did the 'loading theory' kick in after quarter time? 

Maybe it does help marginally to some degree at some point in the season. 

But if it was as important as you make out, you'd think the experts (many of whom have coached and played at the highest level), would be giving it a lot more air time through the media. It interests me why that isn't the case..

k no CYB  Your completely inaccurate " Stab" of crowd no's allegiance is a joke. 

In last quarter when your team is 50 points behind usually a mass exodus occurs. 

No such exodus happened from any area. Not Sure where most Lionswere sitting maybe  lower Ponsford def not in MCC Northern Southern 1,2 and 3 levels. 

Noise was far greater from Dees snd that  clapping from MCC and Res Seat MFC Holders in M lower area as players hit the interchange was season best. 

Reckon 4/5,000 might have been BCNA at most 3/5 Lions so a good 28,000 we're Dees IMO. Similar to Freo crowd . Better as a Thursday night.

Where do you sit CYB? Or are you in a drone looking at the stars ? 

Please don't invent crowd issues again. Good that you will have to wait till the Pies and Blues games to guess your fantasy game. Care to be a clairvoyant on likely   NUmbers  7/8 weeks in advance?

Fantastic result! Brought the intensity and some players found form. Still think there is room for improvement. The forward line isn't functioning perfectly and missing some shots at goal still. In saying that if we play like that every week then good luck to the opposition.

I was at the ground two hours before the first bounce. Walking from Richmond station I was astonished at how many Lions supporters I saw. And I thought here we go again, another interstate team outnumbering us, we’ll be savaged. 
But that defs wasn’t the case. I’d say it’s the other way around, WE had 20-25k. 
The reason I saw so many of their fans  hours before the game started was probably many of these ppl had flown into Melbourne and were sampling some of the great watering holes on offer in Richmond. (A pre-drowning of their sorrows?) 😉

The clear stand out IMO was the intensity. CP dominance, clearance dominance, forward half pressure, tackle pressure everywhere. We haven't played with that level of ferocity much in 2022 but when we bring it, we really [censored] bring it. Led superbly by Viney, who played one of his all time best career games.

Forward half worked so much better as a unit tonight. Small things like Weideman blocking for Brown and crumbers in the right spots in front of the marking forwards.

Don't know if it's a coincidence, it probably isn't, but Lever's game was phenomenal, against the highest-scoring side in the competition to boot. Petracca also lifted so our A-grade core was largely on song tonight (Langdon still has room to improve). 

Weidemand deserves credit. He wasn't dominant but he put his body on the line in the ruck and in marking contests and I thought really applied himself well.

Let's see if this is a corner turned. Big games coming up on the road but when we play like this, we are scintillating.

Having Petty and Lever both playing allows Lever to do what he does best.

Our defence is the best in the league and it’s a major part in why we should finish top 4.

Perhaps. But sitting in AFL reserve for the 1st quarter (predominately Lions supporters), then the MFC reserve area of SS for the rest of the game had a stark contrast in volume. Sometimes when we would kick a goal, there would be no response bar the cheer squad i.e. Harmes goal where the crowd celebration was pathetic. However every time the Lions kicked a goal, the Southern stand would erupt. 

So technically we may have outnumbered them, but they were clearly more vocal than our fans.

If you're talking about the massive snap it was quiet in the SS reserved area but in my section it felt like no-one was sure if it went through or not. I was the only one going nuts and literally had to tell the crowd around me that he'd kicked a goal!

Good to see us running on top of the ground. First time since round 8 against the saints it’s looked that way. We will have some more running through mud periods no doubt, but it’s good to see we can access that form when required/planned for etc. a stark contrast to the last month.
