To not go through the list of big egos that have won a flag and thus making me look silly.

Would definitely get him to meet May at Entrecote to discuss a possible move.

With Alan Richardson as Moderator!!

Not really a fan of Tex - best well behind him imo and may be a culture killer

Contracted till end of 2023 at Swans I think but Joel Amartey is the guy I would be looking at - 197cm 100kg, can mark, kick and pretty mobile - with the right coaching and an opportunity could be a player

I've shuddered in horror every time I've seen the 'Taylor Walker possible recruit' thread on the main page, so I'm looking for reassurance that there are better options out there.

I'm keen to hear people's opinions on possible next key forward options for the Demons. It is clearly the next item on the list management, erm, management list. Respectable veterans slightly younger than our current ones to cover the impending hole? Mid-career club-switch prospects? Young key forwards who aren't getting games but could provide an honest contest?

If I can figure out how to add a poll to the post later, I'll take in people's nominations and create a poll.

So, who have people got an eye on for this essential part of any 'dynasty creation'?

Walker would be a perfect fit right now.  But here is a bit of a left field trade scenario if, IF we can't keep Jackson.

Melb Trade: Jackson & future 4th.  Recieve: J. Ugle-Hagen & First Round

Freo Trade: Lobb & First Round.  Recieve: L. Jackson & Second Round

Dogs Trade:  J. Ugle-Hagen & Second Round.  Recieve:  Lobb & Future 4th

Dogs really want Lobb,  and apparently Jamarra isn't happy with not getting a game.  He is too good a talent and them chasing Lobb doesn't look good for him.  He would be a good prospect for our future teaming up with JVR.

Obviously the picks would work out differently but just a rough idea.

L Jackson for Ugle-Hagen

That is a wonderfully ridiculous statement

Hagen and a first rounder.  Don't get me wrong he was great for a 12min patch in the GF and is going to be a gun.

Essentially, we get 2 first rounders for him which is what I'd expect

Like I said would be different picks.  But they will have to give up something for lobb,  and I can't really see how ugle-hagen fits in with Darcy coming through and their reported interest in Lobb

Like I said different picks,  I'm not going into futures and stuff.  I don't know enough about it all.  But they can't play Naughton, Bruce, Darcy, Ugle-Hagen and Lobb who they are reportedly very keen on.

But Hagen is no good and That’s why he can’t get a game.
Anyway F all that. I want Jackson to stay

Jack Watts was Tough compared to Ugle-Hagen

The Dogs should throw in Schache, we're running low on marking bags

Lobb is 30 before next season. Wouldn't logic tell you he's coming in to fill the gap while Jamarra and Darcy develop? No guarantee Darcy will end up a forward anyway.

And that's ignoring  the fact your trade s extremely lopsided and the Dogs wouldn't do it in a million years.

Ugle Hagen has Watts/Schache written all over him

avoid

No he didn’t.

Agree. He played a good 5 minutes (which of course will be forever apppreciated).

Id argue that Gus was our best player during the 2nd & 3rd quarters. He was immense those 2 quarters, never dropped his head.

Hagen is a no 1 draft pick who hadn't played footy for 2 years before he was drafted.  He will be fine.

I want Jacko to stay to,  which is why this is a hypothetical.

It was a good patch,  but i still think Vineys hand in that quarter was just as good.

They have already said Darcy is going to play forward.  Even if he is a stop gap,  ya recon Ugle-Hagen is gonna play in the two's for another 3 years.  It's just an opportunity to get a good young fwd.  Like I said in the original post,  picks will be different but futures and stuff will come into it.  Too hard to do that

LJ had a direct hand in one of our 7 goals by way of a beautiful clearance to Oliver. Every other goal was manufactured by others.

Gus, Oliver, Fritta, Viney and Trac were epic in that quarter and it does my head in when people claim that we wouldn’t have won the GF without Jackson. It does a total disservice to his teammates.

And Viney,  who had a hand in all those goals from centre clearances

Jackson changed the entire momentum of the game. Yes Viney was huge as well, but it was Jackson who denied The Bulldogs any touches of the Ball when he went into the Ruck so that we had total Domination

Ugle-Hagen has done nothing, regardless of what Luke Darcy keeps saying

No he didn't, and even the players and goodwin say it was viney's stoppage work that set up harms that swung momentum.

Even those goals at the end, Jackson lost both those taps and viney got both the clearances.

Not too many 20yo key fwds have done much at thise stage of their career.

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
