Cody Weightman has such sublime skill. His ability to draw the free kick is elite….

Weightman couldn't throw himself backwards any further. That stuff should start being fined to get it out of the game.

McKay got a fine for something less blatant last week. Watching Weightman do that was unpleasant

Don't know how much the North Melbourne coach is paid to turn up and take responsibility for this but it's clearly not enough.

Yeah I don’t love Cody Weightman at all.

Throws his head back every week

Doesn't need to. Can play

lol imagine being torn apart by Cody Weightman. Sucks to be Essendon or North.

I reckon he might be in a fair bit of trouble before years out

Apart from geelong I don’t thinks there is another team that stages for free kicks more than the Bulldogs.

It a joke and embarrassing if u r a dogs or cats supporter.

God I hate the dogs and cats.

Just don’t like the way he goes about it.

Must be the cut of his jib

Maybe they should use the ‘Precision’ footy, a two-coloured ball might be easier for North to find.

As much as I dislike the bulldogs free ride with the umps and weightman milking frees, part of me wants to see a game that surpasses our 186 horror.

If he put in as much effort into finding the ball as he did playing for free kicks, he might’ve got himself a disposal in the GF.

I thought the same Nascent. I feel guilty.

Watching the Roos v Dogs is tough.

Not pleasant viewing at all.
During a match like this, I notice things that I probs otherwise wouldn’t notice. Case in point: North have a player named Atu Bosenavulagi. That’s a six-syllable surname.
Not including hyphenated surnames, the only past or current player with more syllables in his surname that I can think of is Robert DiPierDomenico. That’s seven syllables!

Ugle-Hagan is terrible

Now I know how other supporter felt watching us play ten years ago.

It's a strange recipe of pity mixed with ambivalence, with a sprinkle of "why don't they just give up and fold"?

  • REPORT: Adelaide

The atmosphere at the Melbourne Football Club at the beginning of the season was aspirational following an injury-plagued year in 2024. Coach Simon Goodwin had lofty expectations with the return of key players, the anticipated improvement from a maturing group with a few years of experience under their belts, and some exceptional young talent also joining the ranks. All of that went by the wayside as the team failed to click into action early on. It rallied briefly with a new strategy but has fallen again with five more  consecutive defeats.

  • CASEY: Coburg

The Casey Demons returned to their home ground which was once a graveyard for opposing teams but they managed to gift the four points on offer to Coburg with yet another of their trademark displays of inaccuracy in front of goals and some undisciplined football that earned the displeasure of the umpires late in the game. The home team was welcomed by a small crowd at Casey Fields and looked right at home as it dominated the first three quarters and led for all bar the last five minutes of the game. In the end, they came away with nothing, despite winning everywhere but on the scoreboard and the free kick count.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 17 vs Adelaide

The Demons were wasteful early before putting the foot down early in the 2nd quarter but they chased tail for the remainder of the match. They could not get their first use of the footy after half time and when they did poor skills, execution and decision making let them down.
