Yes yes new season and all, but whenever I see the cup, I am just so damn proud of this club. The pride is off the scale (and will forever remain so) ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Yes I concur. I even went back last Sunday for a second hold and photos as I was not happy with the photos of myself on the first occasion.

What the Cup symbolises is pride, excellence in achievement, and a journey by all supporters like no other which means so much after such a long time.

Our players and staff under the circumstances are immortals who will be even prouder for the history making journey that they  have undertaken.

Achieved in an utterly disorganised season by the pandemic our Cup will even grow in stature by the football public along with history and evolvement of time.

In seasons gone by, this would have been someone else's club like Hawthorn or Richmond that greeted the touring international premership team at the MCG and basked in the glory of being the respective champions.

...but now it's us and it's our turn.  Still kinda doesn't feel real, but it is true and it's a bloody magnificent feeling.

GO THE MIGHTY DEMONS!!!

Well said. I never thought I'd be so enamoured with the object itself, just expected it to feel like a mere symbol, a fun photo op and that's it. But when I touched it, there was something electric about it. Probably was more impactful than otherwise in making it feel real since so much of the experience was virtual to that point.

Oh it’s still a symbol…………………..of my life’s pursuit.

I feel for those whose dream it was to live to see a Melbourne premiership, yet were unable to. I am sooooo fortunate and grateful that I got to, and so I celebrate it for them as well.

Hmm. Did you unplug it first? That might explain it.

Tigers break all-time record; ‘Embarrassing’ Eagles face AFL world’s wrath: 3-2-1

Nice that another club is stepping up to the plate to take the mantle from us.

We play the Eagles in another few week and I'd love for us to have a crack at beating 186.  The game is at our happy hunting ground of Optus Stadium, so hopefully that helps.  I don't the Optus will be ever the cauldron of doom of the Eagles or Freo again for our current playing group.

Here is a record I am not proud of - havent been to a game since the Cairns disaster.  Easily the longest break from watching MFC in my life.

afl     7 0

has to be a record

I believe our VFLW just lost their first game this weekend but nevertheless it is still a remarkable start to the season for the Demons.

I think this thread about embarrassing records has reached its use by date. Time for something more positive. What records do we now hold that are ones we can be proud of?

Jake Bowey tops the list of players who never played in a loss with 10. The next best, held be a few people is 9.

Is the 12 goals in a row the best ever in a Grand Final?

Has any team ever kicked three goals in less than a minute of game time?

Please add to the list. Let's enjoy our true magnificence!

Now 14. Let's not get blase about this. That's 5 more than the next best.

I think there are two records being confused here.

The record that Bowey holds is the most number of career games without a single loss.

The other record is most games before first loss, as shown in the table above.  Bowey is four wins behind that particular record at the moment.

And I guess he only holds it until we finally lose one, if I’ve understood that right. Bit of a weird record that one, in that you can lose it without someone taking it from you.

This is the more impressive of the two. Whereas in the other record a player can have experienced a loss and then followed that up with a long run of wins, Jake may rack up the same number of wins without ever knowing what it’s like to lose.
PS: Middle para (above), instead of ‘most’ you mean ‘highest’ right? Soz DS, but this is a rare occasion where someone gets to point out an error of yours. I ain’t about to let that go begging! 😆

Now 15. He's also now the holder of the record for current players of wins before his first loss, having overtaken Ben McEvoy who started with 14 wins before a loss.

Just a reminder that the overall record of wins before first loss is 19 held by Albert Lauder of Collingwood. There are no players with 18; two with 17 (Kelvn Moore of Hawthorn and and Alby Ingleman of Carlton), none on 16 and three others with him on 15. So, he's equal third on that list at the moment.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
