Two frees to sydney inside 50 not paid. Unbelievable.

Actually, totally believable 🙄😡

I never used to hate the Dogs but gees I’ve grown to really dislike them. Bont the one shinning light.

Very much the same here, always had a soft spot for them, but am just completely over their relentless pursuit of free kicks!

Regardless of the outcome of the match tonight, I'm still not overly convinced of the credentials of either of these sides.

The (likely) result has cemented that the Dogs are the biggest down hill skiers in the league. Most of their players are frontrunners and frankly they're a bunch of prima donnas.

Sydney have a lot of talent but are young. I suspect their season will be up and down and whilst they'll make the 8, they have a while to go before they seriously challenge.

Don’t get why people hate the kid. His hair?

he goes hard and is a great mark and kick. Tries to get in defenders faces which is his job

Would love to have him at the demons

He has a lot of talent - but absolutely bends the rules. Flops on the ground, in the air and generally dives the moment he feels contact.

Worse, he then celebrates his ill gotten gains (goals) harder than most celebrate a running team lifter. Over the top and ridiculous. Does it for non goals too - a teammate makes a run of the mill tackle and watch him bounce around with fake bravado and joy.

if he concentrated half as hard on his game and role as he does on geeing himself and others up he'd be an even better player.

Case in point - in all his crazy enthusiasm he tried to mark that ball on the goal line in the 1st QTR of the GF. Was going through for a goal - a crucial, grand final first quarter goal. He was so excited he genuinely stopped the goal and damn near knocked himself out in the process

Sydney forward line totally dysfunctional - Dogs not much better.

Swans forwards no idea under the long ball

Why players take a bounce two steps after receiving the ball is beyond me.

Coz its ingrained from under 10 footy

Bont is a star. The Dogs are unimpressive though.
Marvel is their comfort zone. Shame you don’t play there when it counts.

ENGLISH should get 4 weeks for that bump! Umps reprehensible!

And the dogs win the flag! Oh, it's only round 3.

Swans absolutely s**t the bed. I'd be filthy if I was a supporter and had to endure that ball use, it was beyond embarrassing. Given the seniority of some of their players, I would expect a lot more against a maligned side like the Dogs had tonight.

The Dogs were lucky to win, but no doubt they'll get their tails up with some manufactured and over-engineered "us against the world, the AFL hates us, blah blah blah" rhetoric.

31-14 when is it going to get media coverage. Year in and year out.

So the swans are pretty average. Smashed in contested possession and tackles, inside 50’s etc.

AFL hates us except we always get the softest frees paid in our favour.
Absolute sham the way their games are umpired.

No they weren't. They were unlucky not to win by 40+ points. And I don't like them

Ungle Bungle gets 7 disposals and they are interviewing him as if he is a star??? UNBELIEVABLE

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
